mighty bow parts

Just a quick question on bows.

When you add a mighty to a bow, does it just add 1 point of damage to each hit  per level of the might (ie mighty 1 adds 1 pt damage on hit) or is something else?

I know each mighty (1,2,3) corresponds to the str modifier (mighty 1 requires +1 to str to gain the benefit), but thats all i really know about how it works.

Yep, the extra damage equals the mighty level.

Yes, a mighty 3 requires a +3 str modifier to gain the full benefit of +3 to damage for each hit.  Very useful and very difficult to make.
