    constellations questions
    « on: November 26, 2006, 01:37:41 am »
just curious if the constellations were listed as part of a hemispherical chart, or as part of one of those big, funny shaped conjoined circle charts.

also, with only a few exceptions, there is very little information as to placement of constellations in the night sky.  I know many of them move across the sky (some completely at random), but is there any information on the starts outside that given in the campaign guide?

None of these exist at the moment.

Jep, the deity ones can move at random, other constellations have not been defined. Also, as each deity has one that means we already have 28, and as these actually represent/mean something, people wouldn't pay much attention to any others. Of course, they could still map them, but it is already tons of work to define the actual world, so the rest of the night sky has no priority at the moment.

      fair enough.....

ah, to refine and narrow my question; the current map of Layonara, is that an entire globe, or are there a great deal of unexplored areas off the edge of the map?  do the majority of landmasses exist within the same hemisphere, and can see the same constellations at the same times, or is there an equator line that would give certain areas a different view of the night sky?

This not a defined area, but something we have been working on.  The current map is fairly close to the span of the entire globe. The axis the world is on, the orbit, the lunar orbits, the prime meridian, the poles, the equator as well as the position of the constellations and other celestials is something we are outlining.
