Ranger Questions

I am playing a ranger now and I plan on keeping him going for a really long time.  I am multi-classing him with a fighter, and since that would make him level 6 with three levels of ranger, does that mean I would have to wait until level 11 until I get my animal companion.  Then once I reach that level would it require a CDQ in order to get the animal.  If it doesn't I was wondering if I could request one anyhow since I have a good beginning idea for one that would allow me to roleplay acquiring the animal.

I'll answer, but obviously I can be wrong.  For the animal companion, you need to be level 6 ranger to get it, so whenever that would be (assuming your leveling as evenly as possible that would be lvl 11 yes).  As for 'requiring' a CDQ, I assume its no(could be wrong but I don't think every ranger has run a CDQ to use their companion), but you could always request one if you wanted.  Again not a GM so I could be wrong.
