rapier and keen

Can a wizard cast keen spell on a rapier and make it keen?  Rapier properties say it's "piercing" damage, and keen spell says it only works on "slashing" weapons?  Please if anyone knows the answer.  Thanks..

Well I know Keen doesn't work on Blunt Weapons, so I don't know about Piercing, but try looking here [lore]Keen Edge[/lore]

Nevermind, don't look there...  it says nothing more then what you said...

Best way to find out it seems is to just try it...

No, it doesn't.

Edit:
Rather, no a wizard can't.

Thank you both.  I asked because I was able to cast keen on a rapier in a past NWN module.  Probably a bug in the module.  I guess I won't be wielding a rapier then.   Thanks again.

go for a scimitar it has a slashing attack and it combines with an already low crit range for a scimitar.
There can be only One.

Yep, with keen weapon cast on his scimitars Chakar can get a critical threat range of 12-20 :)
