Removing Visual

How does one remove a visual from a weapon.  I've tried placing it on my ox and the "Mysterious Device" in the Scamps Mug but it still remains.  Any and all advice welcome.

Did you toss in onyx and 400gp, too?

You could try placing the weapon in your ox bag, though it will remove any enchantments on it and probably revert to it's original look, meaning you'll have to customize it again at the crafthouse.

 Just to be sure, you put it in the ox bag, loaded it onto the oxen and then unloaded it? Simply placing it and removing the item right away without loading the ox bag won't do any effect.

It is impossible for an applied visual effect to remain on a weapon after going through the ox bag.

You must load the pack back on the ox then take it off to remove the added effects though.  ALL other properties added to the weapon will also be removed.

ex. Iron (+1) longsword with 1d6 lightning added by a rod will become an Iron longsword.  It will still be +1 but will lose all added properties.

Edit: The Darkenizer (aka "mysterious device") only removes the properties: Light  Which include:

Light: Dim (5m) blue
Light: Bright (20m) white
Light: Normal (15m) green
and so on and so forth.

There is no functionallity IG at this time to remove ONLY a visual effect and nothing else from a weapon.

That did it.  Must not have place the pack back on the ox the first time.  Thanks.
