Scaredy-Cat needs help...

I play Remy Zephyr most of the time (he is a Rogue at lvl 5) and I was wondering what level would I need to be at in order to feel secure enough (won't get killed with one arrow/hit etc...) to travel out and about across the west server by myself.  When it comes down to it I like being in parties (Rogues tend to need party members, or so I've been told) but there aren't always people on who will play with me and I don't like making people feel obligated to help me with quests that they've already done a zillion times.  I just do not want to die too many times and truly DIE (death tokens) too soon.  I want to begin crafting (I would love advice on crafting weapons and armor) and such but I'm too scared to go out on my own because things would kill me in one hit... Please help me. Thanks.

Hehe, I think Michael said that a few times...he didn't shove though...at least not hard They'll always be areas in the west server I think even at fairly high levels most players will not be able to travel alone.

Thanks for the responses so far but could someone let me know an average level that would be good to a make a Rogue run from town to town without being killed in one hit thanks.

Acctually level 1.  I could get from hlint to Arabel with a level 1 character (used to be able to go from hlint to the cloven mountains... but thats changed a tad.)  Just to clarify that no special abilities are needed for this... you could get from hlint to arabel, hlint to pranzis and lots of other places with an animated stick with 1 hp.

Traveling from town to town is even easier with a rogue, as you can sneak.

Fighting things is a totally different matter.

If you dont know the ways I'm refering to, ask around.  Thats how I found all the secret ways through things (that really arent secrets... just sounds more fun when you say it like that.)

I'm not really that scared, I just want to be able to run through places and fight things when i choose or with chance encounters without being killed in one hit so if you know of an average level that would be great.

Romona,
  There is no real "average" level.  If you travel the safe routes you can make it a long ways, as has been stated.
  Close to Hlint you can handle yourself.  The further you get out the more careful you must be, or the more powerful party you must have.  The server is built for grouping as that is what drives communities and relationships.  A single player can succeed, and there are a few that are mid teens now--though it has taken them quite some time to do it.
  Not sure what else to say or what else you are looking for on this one.

Thanks for giving me a straight answer instead of teasing me about my title to my thread.  I just titled it that to get people's attention.  I just wanted to make sure that if I started to try to make arrows or bows that i would be able to gather it mostly myself without having to rely on a party if no one is around.  Thanks again.

Yeah, it's real tough going out by yourself. That's mostly all I do though. Just don't bite off more than you can sneak past. I snuck to Leilon last night, and took a boat to the Central Server, Hurm area. When in Leilon I took just enough out of the bank to buy a ticket to Hurm, thinking there'd be a bank in town so I could just withdraw a bit more for the way back. Ha, nope, guess again. I decided my only way to get off of the Central Server was either to a). die, or b). sneak to the next town over and find a bank. I tried that, and got caught by a dwarven mercenary. If Leanthar hadn't showed up, I would have been very dead. Moral of the story is, wanderlust is good, just don't overdo it lol.
