The Cleric I play has the following stats (aasimar):
Ability Scores:
Strength 14
Dexterity 14
Constitution 10
Intelligence 10
Wisdom 20
Charisma 16
And here is my current tradeskill (crafting) progress:
Tradeskill Exp. Level
Alchemy 14
Armour Crafting 13
Enchanting 15
Food Crafting 11
Gem Crafting 16
Infusing 12
Scribing 12
Smelting 15
Tailoring 21
Tinkering 20
Weapon Crafting 16
Wood Crafting 15
180 crafting levels combined!
As you can see, it does not really matter what your stats are, if you are determined (and can cast spells for certain crafts like scribing, enchanting and infusing) you can accomplish much in a wide variety of skills.
Actually, having lower stats in required areas means that you will have a harder time at the beginning of a craft, but will have an easier time reaching higher levels without having to use extremely rare CNR components (as you can see with my tinkering level -- tinkering requires dexterity and intelligence which are not my cleric's strongest attributes!). Its a tradeoff that can shoot a low level character up the crafting ranks.
My cleric is only level 12 now and he attained most of the above crafting ranks before level 10!
I love this crafting system in its own right and I will be sorry to see it go in NWN2 if it does.
