General Discussion / RE: Defensive Spellcasting« on: June 26, 2005, 11:59:00 PM »Quote steverimmer - 6/27/2005 2:38 AM That's exactly how it works. It's a wonder at higher levels. Great for a cleric that needs to run in and heal the fighters. Just be sure that you enable it while you are running towards who you want to heal. I've died too many times on other servers while waiting for the mode to kick in. 2
Layonara Server / RE: Layonara Project Team Applications« on: June 26, 2005, 11:54:00 PM »
Hi.
Because of a recent formatting (I don't want to talk about it. ) I've lost just about everything I've made. But I've been playing NWN since it landed on the shelf. I've been building off and on for myself for a while, and I built player houses on World of Caenyr for a few months before retiring from the team due to boredom. I think this would be great for me. I'm a first semester computer science major at Holyoke Community College, and I'm in the computer programming section. I have a good eye for areas, and creative use of placeables. I have experience with Haks. NWNscript is not unfamiliar to me. NPCs are no trouble at all. I have -some- CNR experience in the back ground, but not much. My only draw-back would be my habit of finishing something, then going back and changing an aspect of it over and over again until I feel it is RIGHT. I would like to get myself into this community some more. And I think this would be a great opportunity. I would like, if possible, to work on building areas and scripting. My most favorite aspect of building would be making a very unnatural area appear to be over run with plants and such. I have the free time and desire to do well with this. Not to mention it will be nice to get my work out there in the world early, before I get any deeper into my Major. If you would like to see more, I would be glad to post it up. : ) 3

Fixed Bugs / RE: Rune of Dispelling« on: June 25, 2005, 09:32:00 AM »
I do think we're very spoiled here. Everything has a system to it. There's no haste, but we can run at lightning speed between towns on West. We have a near flawless bank system. The oxen are cheap, and -very- effective. There is no Xp penalty for being in a party, regardless of levels involved.
But it seems through all the systems we're getting institutionalized. It seems that something as simple as removing your own spells has become a complicated affair that -requires- a script to even be considered possible. I think everyone should just remember the -old- days of NWN, where we didn't have any neat scripts to make things smoother and more playable, and just use our imaginations and think up new ways to do things, without making Orth have to bust his arse to write up another script. That's my two cents, I guess. 5

Resting still just seems more logical than -another- script on an all ready script heavy server.

Quests Ideas and Discussion / RE: CNR - Suggestion - Weight Reduction Enchantment« on: June 24, 2005, 11:26:00 AM »
Rather than having -wands- to do this, why not make it a higher part of the craft that made it? Anyone can make an armor, but only a master can make it protect you the same, but take off a few pounds of useless metal or leather off? It would mean more CNR entries in the DB, but I think it would help express the low-magic feel. Not everything in the world can be solved by a piece of magic glass.
And, rather than having a -whole- new set of armors, you can just use forsettii's enchanting properties to add it onto the item. He does some pretty amazing stuff. That's how I found Layonara after all, his Enchanting thing on nwvault. 7

Sorry about the link. And thank you for the answers. I was just wondering if there was something in place. It seems a little too complicated to have anything added to the game mechanics.

General Discussion / RE: Proper RPing« on: June 22, 2005, 10:51:00 AM »Quote KageKeeper - 6/22/2005 1:37 PM This can be a little jaded as well. There are people here who are developing their characters into their class. Not everyone is born a pious Monk, a wise Druid, or a holy Paladin. These things take time. I think it's dull RP to automatically BE exactly who you should be when a class is concerned. 10
CNR Suggestions/Discussion / Alchemy Suggestion« on: June 30, 2005, 11:36:00 PM »
I was talking with 8bit, who keeps complaining that his sword glows bright blue with Matilda, and doesn't give off that morose gothy feel he was looking for, when I came up with this idea. I was wondering if it would be possible to craft those light gems, or some kind of way to add a light -over- an existing light. Is this possible? Or even necessary? Thank you!

General Discussion / Tongue of the Sun and Moon.« on: June 22, 2005, 12:00:00 PM »Quote Tongue of the Sun and Moon (Ex): A monk of 17th level or higher can speak with any living creature. The above was taken from the 3.5 SRD online manual http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/home.html)]here.[/url] Does this apply to Layonara at all? If it does, do we simply RP it as that, or is there a language ear for it? 12
General Discussion / Pilgrimage of the Eight Graces« on: June 20, 2005, 01:37:00 PM »
Hello everyone. I'm Kimiko Kariduo. I play this character on WoC, but I heard that you have a slower progression of levels, and no PvP, so that fits better with my ideas for that character.
Anyway. I was looking for eight very different people who wanted to take part in the close development of my character. It's called the Pilgrimage of the Eight Graces. And basically, I'm looking for eight different teachers to take an active role in Kimiko's development as a Monk. You don't have to do anything flashy, and I do not expect help leveling. What I really want is to get her deeply involved in the world, and it's people, and to basically get myself seeded into this server a little easier. So why not give it a shot? You could have a good time. Feel free to post, or PM me about it. Any alignment is great. Any class fits. Any God. Anything. The Eight Graces are part of her development. Thank you very much for any interest.

Unknown the Kimiko, her former master and caretaker of the unfortunate orphange, had sent her to Mistone for a certain cause other than to distance her from the rest of the sane world. Eight certain masters lived on the land, and he saw fit that she learn from them to untap her potential.
The Pilgrimage of the Eight Graces.
