Exotic weapon - Katar

I have noticed that some weapons do not have the Improved Critical Option or do not pick up certain weapons under the weapon finesse feat.  The two weapons that have crossed my path are: Falchion and Katar.  No doubt this is due to their creation post-NWN.

Is it at all possible for this to be repaired?  I have a character who I'd love to give Katar's to, but it all stems on Improved Critical registering it as a weapon.

You can't take any weapon feats with the custom weapons.

Can it be repaired? well..  the short answer is no with a however, and the long answer is yes with a but.

Edit: to be less cryptic, I think it can be done but it wouldn't work exactly right.

Then my next question is can the weapon be edited to have a threat range from 19-20 instead of 20.  I feel this isn't a bad request since:
1, the threat range will never be able to increase over the course of the game thus making the kukri still supreme.
2, Yes it does have a x3 damage bonus but a kukri 15-20x2 still beats a Katar 19-20x3.
3, It also will never have a bonus from Keen Weapon as it's piercing.

I absolutely love the katar and if it can be manipulated as above I'll take it as a weapon.  If not, well unfortunately i'll default to the Kukri or Dagger.

Just a note you might want to keep in mind. These custom weapons are not recognized by Weapon Finesse either, so while you might be able to use it, you wont get the right attack bonus from dexterity. Making it pretty useless to most rogues who have low strength.

Would you think its possible or even consider changing the threat range to 19-20 for the katar.  As you mentioned they're all pretty much useless, however, the theme of using Katar's for my new char Sephaelle is winning me over.  Unfortunately she's got to be a little effective so unless its changed I'll revert back to the kukri's.
