I guess what I am getting at is that in a low magic world like Layonara, having such powerfull magical items readily available for nothing more than coin imbalances the challenge rating in the players favor considerably. In my opinion.

I assume you are talking about +3 items. And still aside from the
yew items, I do not know what items that are "such powerful" and are
available for "nothing more than coin".
I do not really see where the problem is. Even if we go one step
lower, for lets say a fighter, getting +2 equipment with nothing
but coin would cost more than 140k for a set of jewelry, a weapon,
a shield, an armor and gloves. None of my characters have ever
bought or traded for a complete set like that. It's a lot of money.
Not saying it is anywhere near impossible, just not easy.
So if we go back one step higher to +3, I do not really see anything
that you can get wich gives a powerful stat boost with "nothing more
than coin". Yew items included. Changing your mahagony to a yew won't
give your character any amazing new combat stats.
Lets see, +3 armors. Adamant clothing is the one with the lowest lvl
req I know of. Monks will love it. So add this to the list of powerful
items in waiting. Not sure, but I think the next armor is monk/mage robes
wich have lvl req 18. Hardly anything that would give said powerboost.
Then there is the +3 Leather armors. I'd say the lowest lvl req is past
20 for leather and well over 20 for studded. They're not getting onto
the list either. Mithril. Probably lvl req over 25. Been mentioned several
times before already. Emerald +3 jewelry. Easier than Mithril, but not enough
to warrant it as "such powerful" for "nothing more than coin". Mithril weapons...
enough said.
So basically, on the "such powerful"-list I've come up with one item (adamant
clothes) and on the "do not flood"-list I have the adamant clothing + jew
equipment. This all under the assumption bowparts III, damage rods IV and the
like do not go under +3 category. Though if they did, I doubt it would make
much difference, since most of those things are rather tedious to craft.
