Is the food or hunger stuff off?  I have been playing for a couple of hours now and I just realized that I have not seen the you are hungry or thirsty messages go by.

Your hunger gets maxed after you die to prevent getting the silly message when you're dead that you are hungry, it's possible this is the case still with both you guys.
