Oxes and stackable items
« on: April 05, 2005, 10:37:00 AM »
When you try to load on a stackable item on an ox, it says that you can't and the thing you put in disappears. Just says "Lost item."

That is not a bug, that is what happens.  Sorry, the ox merchant tells you not to do as well as the conversation on the ox.

Are bags of sand stacked items? I seem to remember putting bags of sawdust on the ok but then again you can't use a bag of saw dust like you can a bag of sand. Should bags of sand dissappear when they are put on the ox? Thanks :)

No bags of sand are items with charges, you can get 8 bits of sand from the bags of sand.  Anything with charges can not be stored on oxen.  The reason for this is we can not keep track of how many charges are left.

You could use 7 of the 8 charges on the bag of sand, load the bag on the oxen, take it off and have 8 charges again.

You can still use it to help you with glass n' stuff. Just dig the sand, make the glass ingots, load the ingots onto the ox, rinse and repeat. (Only thing that'll take more time is you'll have to run from wherever you get your sand to the forge and back again a few times, otherwise, it's fine)

I was thinking the other day about the bags of sand, could it be possible to make them like food, where they don't have charges untill they are used for the first time? Then they could be stored on the oxen :).

I really wouldnt mind if the charges were remove from bags of sand entirely.

To get 20 bits of sand takes two full RL minutes sitting there while your char uses items special power and throws out his arms.  Its not really worth it to me so I just pick up the bit of sand deposits every time I go by.

-just realized i may have said this before... but not sure if I said it or just thought about it heh
