Observations and Thoughts of Sieca Keenflame
    « on: December 24, 2004, 06:11:00 AM »
This place hlint, it is not what i expected.  It still reaks of corrupt influence of law and order.  But i see no influence of this dark movement.  And that little dark gnome, the audacity to cast magic upon me without asking, doesnt he know i could impale him upon my sword faster than he could mutter his appology?  But i have no desire to bring the law down upon me just yet.  I think his fire damaged my blade.  Perhaps a blacksmith is near that i could nagotiate a finer piece.

    Intimidate Check: Roll (17) + Modifier (6) = 23

*boy gasps and runs off looking for his mother*

No blacksmith i trust can be found, seems the dwarves have alot of the skill in this town, tho the clerics of various faithes are high in skill.  Tho i dare not trust their skill when it comes to my life.  If they only knew me they would not do my work anyways.  Rumor has of an elf that lives in the woods with a stockpile of gear, i currently give thought to going to him.  Word has it his morals have a price.

The people in this town are most unusual. Friendly to a fault.  Perhaps i will not have to hide amongst the shadows too much longer.  I could blend in well enough until i am stronger and more able to set out on my own.  I have a debt to repay, but i will not be repaying anyone if i am dead.

The town of hlint never stops confusing me.  The town keeper of taxes always seems to be losing her work, the annoying halfling in the inn always seems to have a worthless necklace stolen and most astonishing is the town guard that seems to consist of 2 members, conveniently never around during trouble.  Although today as i was letting my agressions out in the cities sewer systems the oddest thing did happen.  In the middle of my fight with a creature of the night a bird appeared.  Only briefly as the infernal thing got between myself and the rat creature and met with my greatsword.  Amongst what was left of the bird was a bloodied note requesting my presence.  The man which I met spoke in riddles.  I am not sure his true intent so would not reveal myself or my intent.  I refuse to allow myself to be lured out of my hiding by a kind word.  No,  not today.  Tho he did seem upset i would not play along with his metaphors, that is no concern of mine.  Games may only lead to me demise.  And final death before i succeed will most likely bring me pain and torment in the here after that i could not possibly imagine.

I have scouted the housing of that elf in the woods.  he does seem to carry a large assortment of weaponry and armors.  And oddly enough more poisons than i have seen in my life.  Something tells me i may be able to deal with this one. Someone like this does not want too many questions asked, and thus will understand me feeling the same.
He seems to be out at the moment, and i could simply take what i wish.  But i would not be suprised the place is trapped.  I will not risk my life just yet for a sword.  I shall deal with the elf when i see him return.
