That thread is great ... comedy at its best.  I love when someone tries to elevate themselves above others by attacking their comments.  "I am better than you because you used words like insuinating."  That was just plain funny ... and if you all noticed he started by saying he played for a week on the server then changed at the end and had never played.  What an idiot.  Anyone who believes DM_Rage is an idiot too.  Bottom line play the server, test it ... if you like it great stay ... if not ... find one that you do like.  But to flame a person for their creations, and to make attacks on him personally is uncalled for.

Viva Layonara!

Indeed. Trying to actually play it is the best option. While the rules may seem to be too harsh at first, it doesn't take long to figure out why they are here, that they actually do their job very well and achieve the desired effect. An hour was enough for me to see how much work was put into this server. It may be intimidating to a newbie at first, but I am sure the feeling will go away when I get to stay here for longer and will get to know some people. So far it seems that I may have found a new addiction here and will have to somehow split time between playing on two servers.. And I thought this would never happen again with NWN. Good job, team.

As the saying goes; 'The proof of the pudding is in the eating'. Look at the server status page, on average there are 10 - 15 people online, and I have even seen it peak at 45.

Not everything suits everyone, so people are quite entitled to their opinions. However, that said, expressing that opinion so as not to annoy, upset or insult others who's opinion differs, is an art. If you cant say somthing nice, dont bother. For whatever reason this guy has found a need to do what he has done, but in the a way that lends little credibility to any argument that he expresses.

On a personal note, I have now been playing Layonara now for the best part of six months. I have yet to see any evidence supporting any of the critisms he has made. I have visited many servers and NWN websites; and yes there are many good ones out there, but for me Layonara has all that I want. So reflecting back to my first sentence, 'This pudding tastes good....'

I grew sick of his vitriol even before i got to the second page.

IMO, most of the points he had a gripe with I consider to be Layonara's secret strengths. Small close knit community? tightly focused scenery and world? twenty three GM's? Bring it on!

I have been here only a matter of weeks and I have already been deeply impressed with the amount of detail and effort that has already been poured into this world by it's GM's and players alike, as well as the spirit of good will by all that I have met. Long may it continue.
