Half-Giants and Grannoch

I am new here and am looking to make a charicter to submit. I was looking at the handbook and found something i need some clearity on. I want to make a Half-Giant Monk that will go into being a Sacred Fist prestige class. Under the Races it says that half giants are mostly lawful good to lawfil evil, but most are Chaotic. Then under the Racial abilites it says they have to be chaotic. However under the the Deity of Gannoch They are LG, LN, TN, and LE.
Perhaps i am misunderstanding what the Sacred Fist is a subclass of. It sounds like a monk with cleric abilieties. Is it something i should make a cleric and then Silent Fist or Monk to Silent fist? I know monks have to be Lawful which is why i brought up all that about aliences.
Thanks in advance.

Before you even think about that technical stuff, pretige classes are not usually approved on character submission. You later can rp in that direction, but from my experience, they don't tend to let PrC Classes in right off the bat.
As far as the deity vs. alignment goes, I think you'd be smart to make him chaotic good.
And yes, you must be able to cast divine spells, but you can get that from a druid, as Clerics are sometimes difficult to rp.
Hope it helps.

I'd say paladins are harder to rp than anything. Cleric actually might be easier then a druid, since druids don't go around killing, they always walk everywhere practically, and wear those funny green clothes and have wierd mustaches.....*looks at Rhizome smiling*

I really am interested in starting as a monk. I was just curious about that prestige class. I didn't really want to start as one. Thanks for the input.

I hate to be a kill joy here but a half giant as a monk?
It would be hard to pull off seeing that with racial bonuses and negitves and a Limit of 8 is gonna make it hard.. If iremember right Monks are about skill and that takes Dex and INT to pull off not to mention who would be willing to train a clumbys half giant?
I'm not saying its impossible but your gonna have to make a long Char Submisson describing how when and where this half giant learned to become a monk and leave it up to the mercy of the GMs or even L.

Monks have to be lawful.
Half-Giants must be non-lawful.
This means no Half-Giant monk will be approved on character submission. Just wanted to make that clear before you start drafting a long character submission for such a character.

I am fairly new to Layonara but also am playing a monk and looked at the sacred fist. It is a cleric prestige class, not a monk prestige class. Plus the rules say it is a sticky subject for Monks, Druids, and Paladins to multiclass ... doesn't mean it's not possible. The Sacred Fist requires that you can cast priest spells first before being able to take the class, thus you'll have to run some type of character developement quest in order to multi cleric/monk so that you can go into Sacred Fist.
I think it is a nice looking prestige class though .... have you thought about playing a half giant cleric and then going into the Sacred Fist when you meet the requirements? ( I know i've thought of this

I did have a half-orc monk in the original NWN campain. I loved it. He might not have been very smart but he did have good wisdom and strength that helped out alot. I was thinking of Half-giant because the Deity of Grannoch got me thinking it might be one to try. I would go with a cleric. It has been stated that Clerics are harder to RP and I am new to RPing in general so i feel i should start out small and then move into that in the future.
Does anyone see any potential problems with making a Human monk that is a follower of Grannock?

As Reventage already posted, monks need to be lawful but half-giants need to start out non-lawful. (It still says chaotic in the handbook, but that'll be updated, the forum post says non-lawful).
What is mentioned under Grannoch are the alignments that clerics of Grannoch need to choose from (these are the alignments that are within one step of Grannoch's own alignment), it does not apply to monks.

Or a paladin, they have divine spells as well.
