To those who meddle in the affairs of the Grey Circle!

* One morning these posters have appeared in most inns on Mistone. *

In the past week, much attention has been focused on our affairs. Much of that attention is based on false rumours, some on outright lies. To clarify a matter that many seem to think our primary goal I will tell you this! We do not seek to attack the weave, Lucinda, the clergy of Lucinda or anything like that! We merely work towards a law against the use of necromancy in our lands. A law that we believe will result in less evil and more peacefulness.

To those that have threatened our members outright, and those who have betrayed our trust and revealed much to those that work against us, know this! An attack on one of our own a result of information that has been revealed by whom we thought to be our friends, will not be tolerated. Be assured that if you strike at us, we will strike back!

You wish to create laws,  you wish for peace,  you wish for war.

How long will it take for people to learn that vigilantes do not create laws in their favor.  You may think your peace will last but it will not.  Your only effect for your threats will be bloodshed.  I advise you to keep your witch hunt out of the towns.

*Ramanon notices the note as he glides past.  He pauses briefly to read it and with an effort refrains from laughing.  He mutters to himself, 'This band of misfits can't even organise themselves or keep their identities hidden. Whats the point in secrecy?  I could name a handful right now.  *thinks* Hmm, maybe i should.....on second thoughts, better to let them dig their own graves.

Celgar walked past one note on the Krandor Inn. He stops to read it and grins. "Out lawing Necromancing? might as well out law the weave.." he said sternly and writes below i the message.

"Any attack on the weave will be delt with ten fold. Think before you Act dwarf. I know who you are and I have been in your group.. I gave up my past to save the weave. Undo my sacrifce and I will expose every thing."

With that Celgar sighs and shakes his head walking off with his shield golem in tow.

You have exposed many names already. Your threat is empty.

That said, you are a betrayer of your word and honour. You have renounced what you believed only a few weeks ago, so your mind is surely twisted.

You are nothing to any of us anymore. You betrayed a vow made to friends. You are no friend anymore Celgar.

I advice you to stay clear of any of us, or you will take a beating you will not soon forget.

If those bigotted fools wish to banish necromany, then let them try.  Its a fools game they are playing and will only leade to their deaths and the deaths of those who directly oppose them.  I need no part in this, whether or not I oppose them, thier hopeless task will never be complete.

*sees Celgars note and tears it off*

To those of the Grey Circle and anyone else who listens,

I don't know who you are.  You might not know who I am.  But continue these threats against Celgar and I promise you we will get to know each other intimately.  I have worked very hard for what little powers I possess, and I will let no one take it away, or tell me how to use what I've learned.

Consider this your first warning.

It appears to be that you have been misguided by Celgar.  He was one of us, one of the Grey Circle, before he betrayed us and started spreading false rumors against us. We are NOT, NOT!, against the Weave, Lucinda, Lucindites, or all magic users.  We only wish to see the decreased use in the foul art of necromancy, and it will NOT harm the Weave! Do understand this before you believe anymore of the lies spread by Celgar or anyone else to simplely to destory us.

And you wish to do this how?  With laws?  What effect do you think this will truly have?  What regard will our Enemy have for such laws?  Those who would follow this law already do not aid Bloodstone, and those whom you truly target would disregard it anyway.

Will not harm the Weave?  Perhaps the next time you go into battle, you can tie one arm behind your back and tell me if you are not weakened because of it.  Tell us that you were not harmed as a result.

This crusade of yours will succeed on one front alone:  to sew division among those who should be fighting for the same cause.   Bloodstone has no need to sew discord among us, because you are doing his work for him.

This is getting out of control, and I think you know it.  On the very slim chance that you are successful, you will have wasted your efforts. Though you may achieve a "moral" victory, your precious law will be irrelevant, and the only thing you will have truly succeeded with is weakening those who fight against Bloodstone, using all available means.

You claim misunderstanding, and yet you insist on a cloak of secrecy and refuse open discussion on the matter.  What option do you leave the rest of us?  Should we quietly sit back and let you dictate to us that which we know to be wrong?

In a time when unity is needed, your crusade serves only to divide.

You said it yourself. Our true targets would disregard a law. But as things are now, these people cannot be touched! A law would make it possible for the authorities to strike at their immoral deeds and experiments.
You will answer that they will keep a low profile, and stay hidden. Our answer - there are ways to sniff them out.

You speak of the Weave as if it was a god. A god is weakened if he looses followers. The same cannot be said about the Weave. The Weave is tapped for power, where a god is granting power to his followers, who in turn provide him with power to give. The Weave will no be harmed by a law that bans a few unnatural and horrible spells. There are hundreds, nay thousands of others. And more are developed all the time.
But as a result of your accusations we have agreed on not to work against a ban of the school of necromancy. We work for a law against dark and evil spells of the school of necromancy.

You speak of division. That is not our goal, and you are wrong. We will work together with every noble and good cause that is presented to us. BUT we will not unite with our enemy. Never. That would be foolish indeed, and would only invite deceit and betrayal - for such are their ways.

You say we are sewing discord. It is you who have attacked us and our views! We have not once attacked the views or beliefs of any person that is not our enemy. It is you who keep attacking us based on lies told by a person who has clearly shown he cannot be trusted. He has sewn the seed for this, which you call strife.
 
You say this is getting out of control, and again you are wrong. We are doing nothing different then we did a year ago. Nothing. In fact we have listened to your complaints and accusations, and have become more lenient in our goals.

You speak of fighting Sinthar Bloodstone with every available weapon. We say use necromancy to protect us from his attacks, but do not be tempted by the easy power to slay and twist life. And do you really think you can beat Sinthar Bloodstone with his own most efficient weapons, at his own game?! You think you have more control of the weave than he?! Nonsense. Using dark magic and cruel rituals will not bring victory. Such weapons will alienate you from the rest of the army of the light. It will weaken morale and resolve. And in the end of the war, should we prevail, it will be you who is imprisoned for what you have become... because your lust for power and death has made of you the same that you fought in the war - a monster.

You attack our need of secrecy. It is our only real weapon against our real enemies. Should our members be known to the public they would be in grave danger. They might be hunted individually, and killed. But perhaps that would suit you well. You, who claim to fight for the cause of good. You are blind to arguments and an ally that will stand by your side whenever you are in need.
