The Voice

Hi everyone.

Just a simple question really...numerous times, and I mean numerous, as I have been traveling in and around Hlint while holding the tab key I have seen a character name bubble that says "The Voice."

Now, having been around NWN online for awhile I assume that is a GM? My question is why would I see the name and no body? If the GM was vis I would see both, if he is unvis I should not see anything. So I am just curious.

It isn't a GM. It has to do with the coding and the voice items. Like an elf has a ear for elvan language item. Thats all I have. A more technical answer will come up shortly

What Etinfall stated.  It is is an invisible "creature" that has to be spawned so that it can listen to the text that is typed by a PC/NPC... It then converts that text in to the language that is being used.

hahaha  when i first started playing here, i had the voice attack me.  0ne HP at a time.  finally a DM came and killed it... so beware of the VOICE!!!

We use to buff the voice and talk to it ooc like it was a GM.

Yeah, it seems no matter where I go or what I do a GM is watching me and listening to what I do.  I guess they don't trust me or something and think I'm gonna do something.  

Don't really mind it though because if they wanna watch my boring RP, go ahead.  They'll be asleep watching my boring self in a matter of minutes.

Oh, I dunno. Yesterday Vorkresh was wandering around just outside Hlint near the goblin caves, and a GM dropped a Gelatinous cube right on his head, scared him half to death, being only 4th level.
