Question regarding Priests of Aeridin
« on: June 22, 2005, 05:58:00 AM »
I went to the tailor in Hlint to try and dye a priest robe white since that is the color of the robes the Priest of Aeridin wears. The only problem is that of all the color sets, white was not one of them. Did I miss something or is it not possible to make a white robe?

A pure white dye is just...too white. It blinds people's eyes.  I would recommend use the "Lightest Grey" instead. It works great.

ok, i'll do that .... but why not just change the color scheme of Aeridin if this is the case. It doesn't seem like proper roleplaying especially if someone asks me IC why I have light grey robes instead of white ones, and I can't give them a proper IC response.

White doesn't stay white anyhow. Just say your robes have seen some use.

It matters how it looks more than what the name of the dye might be.  Light gray makes a pretty darn good looking "white".

In some cases, silver dye looks white...even whiter than white or light gray.

Yeah, trust me, people know that you are Aeridin's priest if you use lightest grey dye.

My Aeridinite wore blue robes with brown trims to match the holy symbol.

White stains too easy.

How would you get away with doing that? I thought the character creation thread for priests said you had to follow the clothing, armor, weapons, dogma of the priest or the bio had to explain why you weren't before it is approved ... and being new, I didn't alter the concept any in my character bio :p

He had the character created before the further definition of the deities... that is why he did it before that way.  Those were the colors that the player felt represented Aeridin (as they were not yet defined at the time) and he went down that RP path....

Lightest Grey is acctually the whitest color in NWN, barring pure white (which looks terrible as it diplaces any texture on the model.)

The "White" color is darker than lightest grey.

No idea why bioware chose to make lightest grey lighter than white.

I am a priest of Aeridin and have found it useful to speak with Athus Dephillie who is the high priest of Aeridin in game to resolve specific issues of church doctrine that are not laid out in the campaign handbook.  He is very helpful.  Send Milo a PM and set up a meeting.
