*Candlelight sits comfortably on the moss covered ground, her back against a tall old tree on the outskirts of the Seilwood Forest. Reaching into her bag she draws out lovingly made leather bound diary with bright cheerful patterns over the front and back covers. Opening it up she turns to the middle pages and begins to write.*
Entry 57:
Well….the last few days has changed my life. Ever since I left the farm in Flint my heart has lifted and the worries of life have left me. The few weeks I spent with Captain Hardlin have prepared me somewhat for what it appears I have stumbled into. I am so glad he drilled me for hours each day on the use of weapons and evading enemy attacks. Even if I did complain about it!
Since the dream I find myself in Hlint on Mistone…a place in some ways similar to Flint but with a lot more people….oh and a lot more fine looking men as well.
The most amazing thing I have noticed in my time here is the willingness of people to help each other out…oh there are the usual clashes between people but on the whole I am amazed that such a mismatched group of people can come together like they do.
I could not believe it when I first arrived that a half-orc woman showed me around town. She was rough but very friendly. Then we were joined by another woman who amazingly was one of the dark elves…she made me nervous at first but she fought well and while she was not a great conversationalist she stood by us in the battles we faced.
I don’t know about some of the men though…we travelled into the caverns belonging to a tribe of Goblins called the Red Light Goblins. Arnault and his friend Ra’Vair were a bit too hot headed for us girls liking…charging into battles around every corner without any preparation at all…Svetta, Sahala and myself decided the best thing to do was to go at our own pace and take a care..lucky we did because the men charged into a battle and almost got themselves killed. We saw the sneaky goblins sneaking up behind them and took them out otherwise the men would have been killed. When will they ever learn?
We got to the leaders cave and once again the men charged in…this time we were ready and it all went really well….except I broke a nail and a goblin scratched me with his nasty sword.
Then the men decided they wanted to stay and wait for more goblins to arrive. By that time us girls had had enough of their hot headedness. We left them to their fate within the cave and returned to Hlint. It was disgusting but I gave the head of the goblin leader to Ronus, a crusty old dwarf for a nice reward. That’s one of the things I love about this place…there is a lot of money to be made for doing little jobs for people…and they have shops…I bought myself some clothes which I can hardly wait to work on. I also have more gold than Jeremy and I ever had out of the farms we had. I am so excited…I love this place.
Entry 58:
Today I met a very nice man….his name was Rolf and he helped me through the Broken forest where all the horrible undead are….this place is nice but some of the creatures are just downright ugly. One of the nasty undead slashed a great gash over my shoulder…It hurt so bad but Rolf came and made it all better…there wasn’t even a scar which I am thankful for, just torn clothing which I fixed pretty quickly. Poor Rolf got all embarrassed when I kissed him to thank him. I think he might be a bit shy which is kinda nice.
Then he showed me the big griffons. I have never seen flying creatures so big before, brave Rolf tried to stop them from hurting me but they were everywhere and poor Rolf took a terrible beating. Eventually together we managed to beat them off and once again Rolf healed the cuts the griffons had given me….he is such a useful fellow…and cute too.
Then we met a beautiful woman with clothes I absolutely adored, her name was Hali and she was just lovely.
Rolf and I then went to Fort Velensk but the shopping was lousy so we went to get a cougar pelt instead for poor Johan so he could look after his wife while she was sick. Unfortunately I think with all the problems with trolls in the area the animals had fled and we hunted for hours but could not find any at all…we even looked in the Dire wood but all we found there were nasty undead. Brave Rolf was amazing the way he handled the masses of undead and we safely made it back to Fort Velensk. Oh yeah there was also the ugly faced harpies. I tried to tell them they seriously needed facials and manicures but they screamed at us and tried to hurt us so we beat them up.
Then Rolf took me to Port Hampshire, the markets there are amazing and I must admit I spent up big, my biggest decision now is what to wear tomorrow!
I have had so much fun lately and I feel so free from the life I led before I am sure now that I have made the right decisions. More later.
