okay... est is east cost time... but what dose the EST stand for, im thinking EaSterin Time.. which makes sence i guess. But then what dose PST stand for, i often call it PCT, Pacfic Cost Time. But then what dose the S in PST stand for? there is no S in pacfic for it to fit, im just so confused.Oh and what is GMT, i thought it was like... GM time, like where L lives maby... but im not shure about that, GMT is like london and such area is it not? anyway.. yea.. pst... hum

Nevermind I spoke too soon.  This site (and two others I've found so far) are off by 1 hour on the GMT.  It needs to be rolled back one hour.  (Right now it shows GMT as 6:36AM and its 5:36AM)

There is a cultural misunderstanding in this area though, about which season is daylight savings time.

There are actually quite a few threads on the times at the top of this page. The staff is aware that it is now PDT (Pacific Daylight)  not PST (Pacific Standard) and we are also aware that the GMT we are displaying is actually British Summer time. There are however only a few that have the capability of changing this...

I suggest you switch from GMT to BST, if you're going to follow the Summer Daylight Savings rule.  As this website illustrates, http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/, GMT doesn't switch, but there is BST, which is GMT+1.  It's very confusing when quest times are posted only by GMT times, because I don't know if the GM is actually using GMT, or is going by BST, but calling it GMT.  For now, I'll assume the time they are going by is the same as the GMT time you have listed here.

I must concur with Lonnarin. We need one singular clock. There is no reason that a person should be able to celebrate new years 24 times, if he goes fast enough, just because of where the earth is in it's revolution/rotation.

How self-centered we, the people of Earth are, for basing a standard of measuring time universally around the way our world coincidentally rotates and travels.

I think it is time for us to create LST. Layonara Standard Time. And it wouldn't be that hard to do, if we had a list of things... And a converter for it... We could pull it off. GMT +/- = LST.

A bit of confusion here.  I sent an email to the timezone website, not the Layonara staff.  So it was them who laughed at me, and rightly so.  Hope this clarifies the mix-up.
