    dream houses

Walking round Layonara, it's hard not to think, "I'd love to live *here*".  I find myself checking the nameplates of various places, just to see how the other half lives.  Given my bio, I want to either live in Sielwood Ranger's Vale, or outside Vale on Dregar.

Seems the closer alternative is taken:  Talan Va'lash, Enzo Reynolt, and Ender Sai.

    1) How often does real estate change hands?

    2) If players stay away too long, will their houses "default"?

    3) What's the nicest real estate around?   What do you wish for?

I was away for 3 months and my house was fine.

real estate changes hands .... eventually ...

I would personally love a little cabin on or near Lake Rillon, but that is just me.

I like my house in Haven, Bidwick mines a lot, so being across the street from the mine has it's perks.

Breg wants a house in the High Forest, maybe I'll just start camping out behind Plenarius' kitchen window...

         All depends on the player
    2) If players stay away too long, will their houses "default"?
Yes, I believe so - players that have purchased a house last fall who left soon thereafter no long own those houses - it may be stated so in the manual
    3) What's the nicest real estate around?   What do you wish for?
Again depends on the PC - the character you're playing.  None of my characters will purchase a house for RP reasons - Merik might however - Michaelis would have a large grandiore home in Pranzis - Nith'wiel would purchase a home deep within the forests - no neighbor hood - just him alone in a tree trunk with a "tent interior" if possible - but it will not happen - Wild Elves (most, or at least the kind I play) are nomadic.  Michaelis will not for reason's I'll leave out.

I was just thinking how cool it would be for Ayreon to have a house in the seilwood or high forest. As much as I want some sort of house, i think it would be OOC for him to move into Hlint or Haven or something.

Does real estate open up in these sort of areas often?  I noticed a few houses in both places, but there doesn't seem to be any more on the market. If I made a special request, would it be possible to have a house built in either area?

The houses in hlint havent changed hands since I started playing here.  Acctually, maybe one or two of them, but most of the ones in hlint were the first to be bought since they were the closest to the place most people congregate.

In rangers vale, one has been on the market, bought, was open, then was bought again since I've lived there (the large house looking one, enzo has had his tree one since I've been here.)

The main reason I've seen houses come available (in high demand places) is by players either being banned or leaving the server.  Malakai's one in lar came up a couple months after he left, raziki's came up after he was banned, and Morgoth's, the guy that bought the one in rangers vale most recently came up after he was banned, then ender bought it.

Moving all the stuff in your house is a pain (especially the contents of chests) I probably wont move unless it is a part of a CDQ or ECDQ.

When I looked at some of the name plates on the houses in east hlint, some of them are characters I've never heard of, but in those cases, characters that lived with the owner may still live there even though the character whos name is on it isnt played or has left.

      -TV

Edit:  A bunch of houses were added recently, and if anymore are added I'd almost guarantee they wont be added in hlint.
