A Letter to the courthouse in Hlint
« on: September 28, 2005, 03:44:00 PM »
*A letter to the courthouse of Hlint*

I write this in hopes to keep the peace. A few days ago I Lushen Whitewood had found a man cutting the trees to the ground. I have posted a warning in the Inn of Hlint; tell the people of the land what would happen if the trees keep being cut down. Now the time has come, nature need justice. The man is named Tcho and he has been butchering the tree to the north of Hlint for to long. I have talked to this man and he said I was weak and can do nothing about it. I ask for a warrant on this man, Katia demands it. He most be stopped, Katia is not one to anger. I await your reply.

Perhaps it would be better to show him how to harvest from the trees without taking them to the ground. Although there is always the chance that you fell a tree when harvesting branches for crafting. I know Tcho and he does not seem to be the bad sort, just a little simple in his ways. But I have talked with him and he is learing and seems to have a quest for knowledge . I am sure that with medeation and explanation  this can be settled to everyones liking.

((Prometheus, Ie: Lushen the IC poster, has posted this requesting tha that the law enforcement officers of Hlint do something to stop him... him being the man that is chopping down trees. At least that's how I read it.))

*Luna reads the note and smirks*

Are you kidding me? The "law" of Hlint are some of the offenders of Nature. They operate under the thought that if they need it, they will take it with total disregard.

I would recommend trying to talk to the offender(s) first. If that does not work, then Nature will take Her course and exact Her payment from them. I have seen it happen time and time again, and I find it as funny now as I did the first time I witnessed it.

However, trying to persuade the "law" in this....town, I fear is a losing struggle....

Lushen Whitewood,
There is no law against the cutting of trees, so your request for a warrant is void.
  Signed,
  Judge Kirus of Hlint.

On the public notices board along the main road in Hlint a new and meager poster appears one morning.  It reads:
  Attention!
Anyone who has information regarding the attack on Judge Kirus' clerk while trying to deliver official correspondence should immediately contact the Hlint guard.  Thank you for your cooperation.
