yeah, but I thought there were no critical failure or successes for saves in the current version.  Variable was talking to me about this and I asked him to post this since we're going to be working on these.

If there were no critical failers or successes... Weston wouldn't exist

Well, there's no critical failures or successes for skills, but a lot of GMs use them anyway (semi-common variant.)  Mostly because its more fun that way... for the reasons you know well.

EDIT:  This was just an example.  I still dont think theres crit sucesses or fails on saves (unless theres sucesses but no fails.  I've saved against things rolling a 1 before like DC 12  rolled a 1+13 and saved.  I dunno... whatever.

There are critical successes. Bioware only disabled fail on 1. Success on 20 wasn't turned off. Otherwise crits wouldn't work.

There aren't critical failures or successes for skills. You can't spot a hiding person with +100 hide even if you roll 20 on your spot.

There are those for saves of course... successes that is. Failures were disabled.

Critical hits are unrelated to the rules for saves and skills.  And they sure didnt turn off critical failures for attack rolls *misses the oak tree 5 times in a row due to a freak string of 1's*  @IDii - a significant number of GMs here choose to use the variant of having crit sucesses and fails on skill rolls *gives pan a funny look*

That's exactly my point Talan. Critical successes on save weren't turned off BECAUSE it relates to weapon criticals as well.
And on the second, that is DM preference really. On my quests you can always fail or pull a monkey out of hidden parts and succeed. That is just the way I run my quests though.
