    The fading shadow
    « on: November 08, 2005, 02:13:00 PM »
    *The following is written clearly*

This is the story of Shadow.

I travelled the lands for many years after I escaped from the temple.
My travels have kept my location and name unknown.
I am simply known as Shadow.
Upon reaching Hlint, a busy trade post, I ran into that damn Cleric again.
Ever since I escaped from that temple he has followed me....
I trained alone for awhile but decided to use the cleric to fulfil my objectives.
I must admit, he fights the undead well.
I also met this damn elf called Leo or something.
    He really does annoy me.
In battle he fights very quickly, hitting his enemy quick and...Well I would say hard but he hits like a kitten.
Never before have I seen someone so weak, yet so successful in combat.
I travel with him often now; his skills prove useful as I complete my goals.
He can dodge blows and distract the enemies while I eliminate them…
My arrows are extremely powerful, but only when I catch the enemy off guard.
We had a fight one evening. I shot his rapier out of his hands and he challenged me to a fight.
I couldn't dodge his fast attacks, and he knocked me to one knee... The fool turned his back though.
I pulled back on my bow string and whoosh. My arrow passed clean through his stomach.
He wouldn't have survived but that damn cleric who keeps on following me healed him.
I swear I will gut him one day.

Day after day passes by and my skills are growing better and better.
I can take an ogre’s life with just one arrow, and no one will ever stop me from growing stronger.
My heart may be dead, but my life is far from it. I have met many people, not one have I liked,
But I can put up with them... as long as they are needed anyways….

My brother, why did you do it Serif? You left me to fall…into the stormy sea below…to be sucked into the eye of the storm. What did that sword do to you? What could have made you kill your own family!? I now only strive for revenge…. But why…why can’t I pick up a blade and fight with all my might….why do no use my greatest asset…but hide behind my bow…fighting from afar…
Is…is it because of you? Because of the amount you made me hurt that night…you hurt me more with your betrayal…than you ever could with a sword. I wish we had never found that damn thing.

If we had just stayed clear… walked away from the draw of the sword… we would have been fine….but it is too late for that now. I promise you brother, you will pay for your actions, one way or another….you will pay!

I can sense that the day we will meet again is drawing closer; it is time I stop hiding behind my bow, and fight with my blade…and I promise you brother…this time... I will not lose! I have watched fools battle... and that is all they are. You and me brother, we fight in two different ways, I fight using the speed of mighty lightening, and you! You smash like the mighty roar of thunder!
Together my brother! We could be great, and the next time I see you... whether you fight for good, for evil, or for no one at all, I will battle you, defeat you, then take your hand, so that we no longer fight each other, but fight side by side, destroying all those who would oppose us!

I sense trouble is on it ways. I believe that my ability to sneak and become one with the shadow will have to come first. As it is i can hide from pretty much anything I see, but that isn't good enough. I will not stop until i am able to hide from my enemies even as they charge towards me. The ability to become a shadow is what will make me so successful brother, and a shadow I will become.
I believe that it will be awhile before we will once again stand face to face, so until then, I will do what is best for me, and not what is best for me just for when I fight you. If you could see my skill with my bow you would cower in your boots. I'm not weak now brother, I will not lose to you, or anyone else for that matter.

A shadow brother. That is all I am, and what I will be forever more. I venture the lands alone far and wide, training, and searching. Searching for that, that is no longer there. The night is falling...I have come to my journeys end, Then the sun once again rises and I wander the land yet again. This threat that is upon the land. Bloodstone. I look forward for us to kill him together, just you and me brother. Together...together nothing can stand in our way....I know that...but...can i ever forgive you my brother? You took my life from me. You took my family, my home and my identity from me that stormy night.... one day brother...we will find out.

*Afew weeks have passed since the last entry*

Things were running a little to hot between me and Trysk...He threatened me about spending so much time with Ranewin and I don't want to waste my energy on killing him so I decided to lay low for awhile and begin to practise with these katars. I searched the land for someone to teach me how to use them, and although I found someone who was able to teach me how to weild and attack with them the foolish man went and got himself killed. It seems he wasn't was strogn as he made out he was. Since he was dead, I decided to take the money I had been paying him back. I suppose it is time to head back to Hlint to get back to my mercenary work.

Before I left I delivered 4000 gold coins to Trysk for one of my clients who wanted him to pass something onto some girl.
I couldn't really care less though. I need to get back into my training for when we will fight again brother.

I did pretty much nothing today..not a single job opportunity came my way! I sliced my way through the crypts and the sewers in Hlint, although they weren't really a challenge against my speed and skill. Not by a long shot. Hopefully a job opportunity comes along soon, i'm beginning to run low on money and resources. My katar fighting style has improved...ever so slightly. I really need to work on my fighting style though. I fight well alone against these pathetic creatures..but I don't think brute force alone is going to help me here...I need to find a way to stab! then fade back into the shadows and then strike again just as effiently...only training and practise will get me them skills so I will continue my training...until the nex job comes along.
