Duties of a Lucindite paladin
« on: November 26, 2005, 03:35:00 PM »
I have though up some things that I want Storold to complete before reaching the 10th or maybe 11th level. I just want some opinions about these assignments as I’ll use most of my time rp’ing them when I get my next level.
First of all the 8th level has gone with Storold getting used to his duties and getting to know some Lucindites and some of Lucindas priests so he knows who to protect and serve. Also he has been completing his training to become a paladin. So he will be ready to serve the weave full (or at least more than he where before because of some severe penalties from wearing armour) time when he is lvl. 9.
The first thing I would like him to do is beginning to learn how to make the simplest wands with attack spells in. This will help him greatly in his work as a paladin and will involve some character development as he has to this date never used any offensive spell. I will most likely spend the first month or so doing this.
But now for the part that I am worried about; I was thinking of assigning him to do some scouting either just general or specific. Thus scouting should be about finding some of the places where the Lucindite code is broken and if it becomes specific maybe try to do something about it.
I don’t know if this last assignment will be fitting for him and if it is I would like some suggestions to where or what he could investigate. If it isn’t appropriate I would like to have some other suggestions on what to do with him now.
The reason for this post is that I would like to avoid doing something as dumb as when I declared war on all necromancers in Lucindas name.

Another question that I want answered is what undead/demons are actually bound?
I know that the ones I see people summoning will be bound to the person that summons them. But what about the ones that lives in the crypts or walk the land; fx. Hlint crypts and broken forest. Are they unbound?

On the demons.

They might be bound.... but the question is by who and what were his intentions?

Also, they might have slipped through a portal or have been summoned by more powerful demons.

I haven't seen that many demons and I don't know much about the areas where I have seen them... So it will be pretty hard to tell for me whether I should go there just for the adventure or as a duty.

Bah(Meaning stupid me), I just read some of the old forum threads about the paladins... It was Liches and Demons, not undead as a general term. But that still leaves me with the question; How can I know that the demons or liches(level 9 vs lich or demon... Not a good gamble might need some back up) aren't bound in any way?

The Paladins live by the Coran arta i' Tha vair maen as do the clergy. In the end the duty of a paladin extends to protecting The Weave, Lucindas laws and those who follow the Goddess.  Generally speaking if you think that something is harmful to The Weave as a paladin of Lucinda you should stand against that.
Generally speaking a Lich massing undead in a crypt isnt controlled, or as previously stated if it is controlled is certainly working not towards a general good.  Lucinda is a good aligned Goddess and though her nature primarily deals with Magic it is also important that the Clergy and other Lucindite followers present magic to the world as a path of betterment. Any other way simply leads to a path of persecution for those who practice the arts.
Coran arta i' Tha vair maen will give you a good guide what you should be struggling against in word and action, and this is of course not limited to demons nor to undead, but to all who would damage or defame Lucinda or her representatives. As the militant arm of the church it is usually to the paladins to make an active obvious stand.

*Storold runs to the nearest Ilsarian temple and sets it on fire...*That will teach them...

Well anyway my main problem is that attacks on the weave isn¨t tht frequent so most of the time I am sitting in Hlint, helping some friends gather resources or digging sand and making it into glass to get better equipment. I would like to have some places to go to with a group of people willing to help me defend the weave and not limit my service to protecting the clergy and my guard duty at the temple.

I'll do my best to be there and help you in any way.
Another problem is that I still haven't got acces to the Lucinda forum. So I have no idea about what the clergy is doing and if I can help them.
