How doI download Layonara?

I feel like a real noob, but I can't figure out how to download this game.  I went to download section and downloaded the allinonevshak.rar and layonara vll.rar files.  But there is no install file that I can find.  I guess I am doing something wrong but have no idea what.  Suggestions please.

Well first of all, welcome to Layonara.  As to your question...do you have Neverwinter Nights Platinum or higher?  You need Neverwinter Nights and the two expansion packs to play on Layo.

and as far as I recall you dont install the game, you just unpack the files to the right folders.

right, when you download the files from these forums, they come as a .rar, that is, they are compressed.  therefore, you need to use a program such as winzip or winrar to decompress them, which is called extracting the file.  extract the files into the hak folder, except for the .tlk which goes in the tlk folder.  basically, it will tell you in the forums which folder to put the extracted files into, and if you are still confused, look at the file type (i.e. .tlk, .hak) to determine what folder to put the files you downloaded into.

I found this game in the beta section of a mmorpg forum.  Are you saying that this is an expansion for a paid game?

It is free from monthly payments. Just like nearly every game out there you need to buy the core game (NeverWinter Nights and its two expansion packs--just buy the diamond edition for $30 or so and that is all you need to pay).  No monthly fees.

As for the .tlk files and tlk folder. If you don't
have a tlk folder, than just add one.
