Leilon Arms Inn

I just want to say that I continue to be very impressed with the owners of this Inn as well as all of the players that RP there. This is definetly one of those rare situations where the owners are top notch in management skill for their inn--and the understanding of the RP value--and as such are further encouraging RP across the board in game.
Good job to everybody and thank you! Keep it up.

I completely agree with L on this one. The players who are in charge of the Arms do an incredible job with thier characters, especially in regards to the management of the inn. I really, really wish that Orth, or whomever would be in charge of it, would take the time to set all of the permanent furniture pieces in place as part of the module, instead of having them as clickable items, all, but that's the only thing I could think of that could possibly improve the Arms.
Just a few minutes ago, Pyyran was sent as a runner to Leilon, carrying a shipment of axes. Now, this may not strike you as anything special, but let me explain the little things that made this a particularly fine encounter. Derrick saw Pyyran meandering along the streets, and called him over for the quick job of carrying the axes up to the Arms for the war effort. The player didn't Tell me, and ask if I'd do it; the character asked the other one, who agreed. Derrick and I didn't even exchange a Tell until he mentioned that he wished he had mentioned Jharl to Pyyran, as well, and by then I was almost there. The entire exchange was completely IC, including the fact that the character Derrick sent Pyyran, someone he trusted well enough to get the job done, while he went off and did his own thing. Very in character, that, from all I've seen of Derrick. As was Pyyran's use of the Housing Teleport System to get back to Hlint.
But that's nothing special.
The interactions between the characters who run the Arms always strike me as... Well, real. I see the same sort of interaction every day, and that sense of flesh-and-blood has always helped my suspension of disbelief in anything like this. The roleplaying is just that good, and I tip my latest-fashion-from-Pranzis hat to them.
The ongoing events at the Arms are an incredible contribution to the game world, as a whole... They bring the characters (and the players!) together, and tie the community in ways that all the dungeon-crawling in the world couldn't. It's a toss-up as to which is more well-known, the Wild Surge Inn or the Leilon Arms, and that fact alone shows just how much of an impact this group of people has had on Layonara.
I am sorry that my schedule usually doesn't allow me on on Fridays... It's a shame to miss some of the events.
Cheers, and again, go you.

Well done to all involved.
Kali, Derrick, Quin and anyone else I have missed.
It is a pity I dont get to go there more often (due to open time), but the times I have been there was great.

Thank you for the kind words. I have said before that the Leilon Arms is everything I ever imagined. It works well thanks to a combined effort of people that care and enjoy the RP that comes from the Inn. It is a lot of work sometimes. What you see on Fridays is the opening. There are hours upon hours of preperation that goes into bringing it together every week. Derrick, Kali, Jharl, and Quin all have a part in bringing you the Leilon Arms each week.
We are working hard on our next development of the Leilon Arms. Stay tuned =)
Thanks everyone and enjoy!

*holds up his tankard*
I offer a toast. To the players that brought this to life, the GMs that gave their support, and to the community that made such a thing possible.
The Leilon Arms has set the standard for player-run guilds/businesses/events. I have yet to see anything player-run garner the renown, nor affect the number of players, that the Leilon Arms has. It was an impressive endeavor, and has become an unforgettable part of Layonara.
*toasts*

The only reason we are successful is because we have an excellent staff, and players who come and enjoy themselves. It's rough running a 4-6 hour event, but hearing the people talk about it is very much worth it. We could not have done this if not for the dedication to RP here on Layo.

*smiles* wow.. thank you. I definately agree with what Cappyra and Zhofe both said...
When Derrick and Quin opened their arms and invited Kali to be a part of the inn.. I wasn't sure exactly to expect. But its certainly gone very much beyond anything I had hoped for. Those two really did a lot to get the place started.
I've really enjoyed working with the others at the Arms, getting to know the players and the characters, and being a part of such a great team, a team that really picks up for each other when RL calls and one of us can't be there. I've also really enjoyed the wonderful RP that happens from the regular patrons, and all players who stop by on Firdays.
I could go on if I haven't said enough?
There is so much I could say about this place. Those that have been there already probably know though, and if you havn't .. I will let you come see for yourself ;-)
