Etinfall - 1/6/2006 10:46 PMI have a few questions about LORE.
Believe it or not, I like questions about LORE just as much as I like bug reports for LORE... and yes I really do like fixing bugs

1. Profiles. I am connected via public cd key but if I go to Profile index under "E" only Ed the Ket is listed. Do I need to create a page in the screen under my name to get listed in the Profile Index?
Hah! Would you look at that... a bug! It has been fixed and you now show up under E in the ProfileIndex. Wonderful yumalicious bug-breakfast! mmmm!
2. If so...Anyone have any tips on formatting? Where can I see a page that is made in this fasion?
Well, for the definitive source on the Markup supported by LORE, visit the
AboutMarkup page (note that it does take a while to load). Beyond that, it's comepletely up to you how you design your own page... after all, it is your own page!
3. Can I delete an entry after I create it? In case I don't like the way it looks.
Well, that is actually not possible. You cannot delete pages, however, you can "revert" to an older version of the page or you can just commit a page that has nothing but a "." or whatever and that'll effectively clear your page. If you really really really want your page deleted, well you'll have to ask an admin like myself or orth who do have the capability to delete pages.
I know there is a preview, but I am curious as to how it is integrated into my profile.
When you go to edit a page for the first time, the only options you have are "preview" and "cancel". Once you click the preview button it brings you to a page with a lot more buttons and such on it. *makes a note to himself to make the initial edit page more user friendly*
As for how it's integrated into your profile... it actually isn't. It's just a normal content page that you can edit because it's got the same name as your profile. Sort of a nice way for you to leave your mark on the world of Layonara. You can use it as a scratch pad, note pad, personal introduction, or whatever else suites your fancy at the time.
There is however a nice way to cross-link your profile with your user page... on your user page make a link like this: [[/Profile/Etinfall|Check out my profile page!]] and in the "Comment" section of your user preferences, put a link in like this: [[/Etinfall|Check out my user page!]] and then people will be able to get from one of your pages to the other. And yes, the comment user pref accepts all the same Markup as any other page on the site.
I love this LORE area. Fantastic Job.
Excellent! I love it too, though I may be biased! *chuckles*
