There is nothing left of Stone to free. It is completely destroyed.

We did rescue about 20 gnomes from the Temple, but then we had to retreat as reinforcements were arriving.

Think of it this way...rescuing the gnomes...in a manner of speaking...was the liberation. Stone itself is a total loss. To stay and fight the reinforcements wouldn't have done anyone any good.

And there are 20 gnomes who are very grateful to be free right now...
