How can i see my crafting skills

Hi

I am new to Layonara, and plan to be doing a lot of crafting.
I have searched the forum, but i can't seem to find the answer.
How can my character in game see his crafting skills and score/lvl of them?

You can access your tradeskill journal which should contain that information if I'm not mistaking

Should I have a book in my inventory, which should be activated ?
(i don't have a book in my inventory)

or will there be entries in my journal (like quest entries) ?

You can get a tradeskills journal at the craft merchant I believe. I hardly ever use mine so could be mistaking there.
