Marius looks at one of the signs and reads it over.  The message stirs anger within the knight, though he keeps his composure.
"The orc has finally made his mistake...perhaps this will be enough evidence against the orc to obtain a righteous warrant for his arrest," he says, apparently thinking to himself aloud.

Marius stood there for a long while in deep thought.
Of course...this matter would be best suited in the court of law.  The orc was having a growing number of supporters in the populace, mostly due to his actions in apparently helping out with some of the troubles of the townsfolk.  His true intentions, however, are largely unknown...  Regardless, now is the time to act...I now have enough evidence against the orc.
But I wonder if it may be too late by the time this matter reaches court...I will have to just buy the creature's freedom...

Marius takes down one of the posted signs and tucks it away into his bag.  Determination was set in his eyes as he walked down the road....

Talen enters the craft house and reads the profusuion of notes about the ongoing sale of the goblin Tolec by the orc Lartak. He posts a note of his own.

"I drop my previous bid to release Tolec from his slavery. I will add nine hundred gold pieces to anyone's bid who will swear to release him."

Marius walks in and notices that someone has bid higher.  It frustrated him, not knowing the intentions of the buyer.  He looked at the new bid.  That was a lot of money, and he was not rich.  Far from it, but money meant little in the pursuit of the greater good.  He could always find honest work to raise the money.

Though he wondered, by paying for this goblin's freedom would he evoke a greater evil?  Would he be encouraging the orc to sell more slaves in the future?  What if the goblin, with his new found freedom, decided to pillage and plunder the lands at the expense of the townsfolk?  But no creature should ever have to be enslaved.  There were many things at hand, and he had not the time to ponder through each consequence.  Something had to be done quickly.  He had not received word back from the courts, and time was dwindling.

He shook his head, and with a look of distaste on his face he posted up his own bid.

Blood and fire! What do they think I am, made of electrum!? Bloody...

*Growling, he sets about writing another note to be sent in, disregarding any who might have seen him.*

The young knight looks at the newest bid, then shakes his head. Still having heard no reply from the courts, he takes out another piece of parchment and jots down his newest bid. After putting it up, he looks at it once more.
"I can't believe this," he says, shaking his head again. The turn of events starts up a headache, so he reaches into his pouch and takes out a piece of willow bark to chew on.
"The courts do nothing of this obvious breach of morality and slave trade..." Marius growls in a low voice as the piece of willow bark is clenched between his teeth.

The knight, although usually composed, strides out of the place in frustration.
