mercurial longsword

couple of questions before i go and waste a feat on exotic weapons.  i am running a toranite paladin who hopes to be an undead slayer. i believe most if not all undead are immune to critical hits.  is this weapon worth it for a paladin and is it even useable by a toranite -- i.e. do the weapon specializations and focus on longsword count with this weapon? looking for some advice. thanks, redhawk

Normal Weapon Focus and Weapon Spec (longsword) will not work with a mercurial longsword, there are weapon focus and weapon spec (Mercurial Longsword) although they will not work because of a bug with custom weapon types.

In my opinion if you want to be an undead hunter use a regular longsword, since undead are immune to critical hits anyway.

Hear the advice of the witchdocta, and at least carry a hammer with you. It's pretty hard to kill skeleton-like things with slashing/piercing weapons :)

Freldo has a tiny little hammer for use against undead, a shame he never engages them, prefers the famous "let someone else handle this".  :)

it would be nice to carry a hammer, but as a toranite it is against maev's religion to use any weapon other than a longsword  ( just maybe crossbow)....isn't that the final test of good and evil?   if it can't be killed by a sword it must be good, right?

Actually it's not against the religion, it's just that most Toranites  wear plate armor and longsword. I think it's alright to carry a hammer or flail for the more resistant undead, or you can just smite them with your longsword. Both work (Lucius still prefers the fisty kicky style) :)

 Unless you've got a greatsword.
