Attention: Farming is NOT yet available to the general public

  I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting the inclusion of the farming system into the game, and I understand your enthusiasm. We want to get it released just as badly. However, at the moment it is still in a testing phase within the Project Team and the GM team. As such, some things are set to parameters that facilitate testing but which could easily be exploited.
  When farming is ready for general use, we will be sure to make a very public announcement of the fact along with some form of documentation on how one goes about being a farmer or farm hand. Until then, please do not enter the Hlint farmlands, and if you do, please do not attempt to purchase or utilize a farm. What this does is takes away from the resources available to our testers, consumes the time of GMs who need to reset the farms that are bought people other than our testers and makes for the potential of a series of bug reports on a system that is not yet complete.
  The entry way to the South Hlint Farms is near the entrance to the Hlint Undercity (sewers). If you see those doors open or unlocked, just ignore them.

A milkable goat that ate EVERYTHING would be sweet too, can just imaging the disputes page the 1st times somebody drops an axe or diamond!

any general date for its unveiling? (december, 2012, when Mr.Disney is unfrozen?)

Well, balancing, coding, etc. is hard work for the team and it has to be well tested and bug free before it will be open to public. So just lean back and look forward to it. It will be released some day.

The farming system is a large custom system, that intertwines with the CNR and other systems on Layo.

It is I believe largest completely unique system to layo that we have and it alas has some minor bugs. The project team is working to resolve them, but you need to consider the following:

1.) Debugging in this case involves both the nwn scripting and the database

2.) Crops take time to grow and therefore when a bug appears once per season, it takes a while to debug

3.) There are cereal crops (whear, barley corn etc), fruit crops (apples pears berries) and animal crops that all need testing and looking at.

So please have some patience as we try to to resolve these issues. It is for you that we are doing this

We can't give a date. The best we'll say is "when it's ready". That said, I think we're on our last few bugs, but as Nibor21 said, progress is slow because of how long it takes to get yield from crops. Also, I do hope that we're on our last round of fixes, but we'll still need to test it out a bit in-game before releasing it for general use.
  And... *chuckles*...the bugs aren't that funny...but that would be neat.
