Notes and thoughts of Alv

I have decided to jot down a few of my own thoughts and ideas so I do not forget things that should not be forgoten. Since fleeing south and arriving in Hlint I've discovered that the outside world is a harsh place. I guess it all started when I had just returned from the goblin wastelands with a man named Thomas who had joined me in the hunting of red light goblins. He went into the Wild Surge inn for some reson, I can't rember why, but I stayed outside. I was leaning aginst the wall when I noticed that there was this women, Aasimar i thought by the look of her, lying beside the small lake just to the side of the inn. She looked like she had been crying so I wandered over to comfot her. I dont know why but... the voices in my head suddenly *smudge mark here* .
Some time later as I was teaching Thomas to make a campfire when a strange elven male aproched me. He asked me if my name was Alv, which I said yes, and asked if he could have a private word with me outside the town. Seeing no reason not to I followed him outside. *more smudging here* thrown to the ground in a blast of magical energy. I was then incased in stone while he ranted on about somebody named Rhynn. At this point a small crowed had formed and still the humilation continued. In my moment of weekness the voices came again though this time I could see what I was doing. Drawing apon unknow power I bloted out the sun and encased the area in darkness. As everyone stumbled around confused I made my escape and hid out in the greypeak mountains.
All this happened mounths ago so I am writing this down so I never forget what was done to me. I now know that the man was Mith and the women Rhynn but I will have my revenge.
"Never forget, Never forgive" they are the words that come to mind when my thoughts stray to this...*smudge mark*

Much has happened since that fatefull day, I have lerned much about this placeand its people. I can count a few that I can trust and count as friends. Recently though I met this friendly little halfling named Lyla. She talked to me about what had happend and trusting her I tolde her almost everything including the spell of deception I had cast so that Rhynn and Mith would not know who I was. I happly gave away everything and never for a moment thought to ask why. I latter lerned from Rhynn's own mounth that Lyla had betrayed me *smudge mark* . Rhynn also tried to convince me that I should go after her instead of Mith, hmm...it seemed like she was hiding somthing.
Anyway I also meet this tiefling named Abigail who sold me my Iron greatsword. I also asked her how to get to the temple of Corath in Arabel and she let me use a portal to transport me there. Ahh...the temple of Corath, a true place of peace for a tiefling. I purchesed a flag of Corath while there and visited the local inn which was full of wonderful and strange creatures of the lower planes.
Anyway I must go now as I see someone coming and these notes are private.

I know that a lot of people view me as a strange person because of my intreast in the darker side of life (if undead and demonic creatures can be viewed as life, which many philosopher's consider a moot point) but in the words of a follow of Toran, "If you use evil as a tool in the name of good then you can change its nature for ever." Now I consider this whole idea of good and evil as a very childish one. Any respectable adult with half a brain will know that the world can not be viewed in black and white but only in different shades of grey. There is no "pure evil" or "pure good" thoes ideas where created by humankind. If you take a look a nature would you call the lion evil for eating the deer? Or the bear evil for eating the fish? What evil there is in the world is created by creatures that are self-awear. The palidains strive to destroy evil but in doing so they destroy themselves. For if there is no evil how do you define good?

A few intresting things happened to day. It all started when I was reading a small novel, beside the bank in Hlint. A very battered dwarf, who I later found out was Varka, sat down beside me. We talked a small bit and I then offered him some ale. Some time later, Amilia, who I adventured with a long time ago, and a man named Jaleel turned up. The four of us then went to the dire woods. It was in these woods, and after a failed attack by some dire spiders and a shadow, that I descovered in that shadows claw a battered book. Seeing the cover of this book I quickly hid it on my person. We I returened to my room at the Wild Surge Inn, I started lookig at it. It contained infomation an the deitys of Layonara.

It has happened, I have tracked down Rufus Coldfinger and we descused the dark father, Corath. The dark lord attracts me as he seems to be the only one who is able to forfull my lust for power. We talked long into the night and eventully Rufus gave me the mission of finding mor about the church and also to find, at least, five people who can be swayed to our cause. I have two mounths to do this, if I acheave my goal, I shall be taken into the church, but If I fail I will be cast out and my name stricten from the record. Such is the price of failure...
I can not write more at this time as, if found, this matter would cost me my life.
