Dwarves to arms!
« on: June 20, 2006, 07:00:28 AM »
* The following note is written in dwarven andpostedin templesand shrines of Vorax, inns, crafting halls and smithys all over Mistone and Dregar. *
  BROTHERS!
The time has come where our training and strength will be tested like never before. As one, we must gather our strength and march out to face this overwhelming threat. In the coming war we will be able to show our fighting prowess and resilience.
There are those that are not able to meet the challenge of Bloodstone's demonic armies, those that will butchered and slain most cowardly. This we must not allow! Remember the faces of your fathers, brothers, and stand true! Our battle standards will greet our enemies on the fields of battle, together with dwarven fury and cold steel.
We will position ourselves where Bloodstone's shock troops will attempt to punch holes into our lines for his footmen and lesser demons. Our lines will hold where others might buckle and break. The spearhead that is Bloodstone's elites will be blunted and torn off by dwarven courage and battle prowess. Never has there been such a war - let us show Vorax fighting as he has never seen it before!
To arms, warriors and brothers of war! To arms!

*Freldo, after exploding the oven again and placing a call to the repair gnomes, reads the notice and admires the dwarven tenacity (or stupidity) and comments to himself*  If I was a dwarf and I missed Kobal's call to arms, I'd shave off my beard, start wearing expensive silk shirts, start skipping and become a dandy.  To arms indeed Master Kobal, fortune favors the bold or foolish.  *Freldo quickly pens a poem and attaches it to Kobal's notice...*  "But ye in it shall be remembered- Ye few, ye happy few, ye band of brothers; For he that sheds his blood Shall be brothers; be he ne'er so vile,  This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in the lands now-a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their beards cheap whiles any speaks  That fought with his brothers upon the battle of our time."  *Freldo ponders a little as he ends the poem...*  This battle must have a proper name.  The Sudden Flame? The Thousand Tears? The Battle of the Bulgy Dwarves? The Battle for Layonara?

The tide of war rises, and once again the call to arms has been made, and once again I will lend me axe and me life to ye. However, I will nay able to fight by your side this time.

Whilst ye are assaultin' bloods demonic forces and taking the fight to them, as only ye can, I will be fighting a defensive battle on Dregar. I have been called by the Pranzis army, and as an officer I must go there to defend the people of Pranzis and Lorindar that can nay protect themselves.

Good luck to ye me brothers, and me friends, all ye that be reading now. May Vorax strengthen your hearts and sharpen your blades in the coming battles. We shall nay let them take our lands!

Kobal, if I be surviving the war, I will see ye on the other side, and once again I will stand by yer side as we deal with the aftermath. If I be slain, I will be reunited with me lost friends, and I will watch over ye always.

Farewell me friend.
Kurgaz.

* Kobal checks hos posters for replies. He finds Freldo in the kitchen and tells him...*

A mos' fittin' poem, lad. Deh battle fer Layonara soun's loike deh best choice iffen ye ask meh. Oi'll remember it. *Kobal smiles at Freldo and goes back to the poster and posts a reply to Kurgaz.*

Seek out Varka in Pranzis, Kurgaz. Rally the dwarves that have come to the city to fight. Together you will be an example that may inspire others and provide them with courage and determination.

Vorax is watching you, friend. Your shield will be a rock in a flood of enemies. Make your ancestors proud, Kurgaz.

Finally we will meet again me brudder - standing side by side but not in battle this toime... but WAR!!

This toime fully prepared with sharpened axe blades, heavy mauls and thicker armours than ever - no fresh wounds, broken bones or lost sight will linger us this time!
I look forward to this "holy-event" where we together with the might of our father shall crush and cleave that pitiful foe.
None can stand in the way of our path...the path of our father. All against us will fall...life-less to the ground in front of our feet but die in a glorious way.
We will grant our living foes a death with honour, free the trapped souls from their lifeless bodies and send back demons where they belong. What more is there to say?

Vorax looks at us kinsman
