request for aid
« on: July 01, 2006, 01:58:36 PM »
I would like to request the brave men and women, to help in clearing out a band of ravaging bugbears near Point Harbor. This was requested from me by the lady of arms of the beforementioned town.
She also asked me to deliver her the head of their chieftain.
I certainly would wish to help in this matter, but the bugbears' amount and ferocity is too much to handle by me on my own.
I trust one can find profit from this assault, as the creatures are known to pack somewhat hefty amounts of valuable items. Alas the profits would be split evenly between the group.
If you are interested, please respond to this post underneath //there is adequate amount of parchment underneath this writing//

As these bugbears impede access to Casterly Castle, I too am under obligation to curtail this menace. Be warned, however, that as I have inquired about this tribe, I have been warned of these bugbears' ferocity by many, many who are greatly skilled in battle. This is not an endeavor into which we should enter lightly. Inform me of your efforts, and if it be wise, I shall assist as I am able.

I too have ventured here. These bugbears are armed and organised like no others I have encountered.
I would like nothing better to than to take the head of their chieftain....but a great many men would be required.

I have been to this island twice now.  Once was a successful adventure, and once the entire party was slaughtered in seconds.  I volunteer my services for this quest, but we must be mighty and well organized.  I would also appreciate it if we can take the time to mine up the garnet stones that are in their lair.

I am delighted to see that there still are brave people depsite these dark times! I was thinking, and came up to a solution; we should organize a meeting (as soon as possible), and decide the tactics and ways of our assault then.
It would of course be for the best if we would ask some more people to join us, so let us ask our friends if they wish to accompany us, more the merrier, as the saying goes.
If possible, the meeting could happen fortwith tonight

//Hmm, it seems that I've been a bit of a fool with the timezone thingy and all, the quest would be 1:00AM of Monday GMT+3, and therefore it will be 11:00pm GMT sunday for the correct time, I hope that people will still show up, even though of this//

*Godim grins, and chuckles a bit as he tacks up a reply to his own message* "Now, let us see if this be a better time for everyone"
Dear people who assigned yourself to the meeting. The dialog was short, even non-happening. This is because of the fact, that no one apparently had time to show up on such a short notice, it is understandable, I myself would probably have not showed up for such an event, with the given timeline. But let it be known that I postponed the event to a more appropriate time, I hope this suits all better than the last schedule.

Sire,

Verily, I too, art challenged in arms by this quest adn doth most happily enjoin thee in this endevour.  I shalt await thee on the appointed hour.  Prithee, if thou encounter mine dragon sworn sister, Serissa or Brother Jaleel Ibn, either shouldst be most eager to join the august group assembled for this task.  I canst not speak for them direct, but pray ask them ere thee go.

Claw and Scale,

Daniel Poetr, Potentiate of Rofirein

//July 4th is a tough date for me, but I should be able to log on for a time at 6 pm. CDT (I hope that's a correct conversion)- the other two characters mentioned Serissa and Jaleel Ibn are two that I believe I put on to this quest in Point Harbor.  Another possible would be Dalan Stoneaxe.  If you see either in game, RP it out and mention Daniel  going with you via a tacked notice on this board.:)

(Printed very carefully in gold ink)

Although my focus is on discovering the lairs and eliminating the allies and the eggs of the chromatic dragons that have awakened, I do request that you add me to your squad in this bugbear campaign.  I will step to the front with shield & sword to blunt their charge.  May my Gold Dragon bless this quest with insight and fortitude!!

I will be more than happy to lend my skills as a healer. I have been to the isle a few times and know the dangers. I ask for nothing in return but perhaps the feldspar collected as its uses are valuable for healing tools to Roldem.

    Stay Focused

*As Krys reviews the notes be appears to become concerned about something; rummages through his pack finding his quill and ink, then writes:*

I scouted the island to get an idea what we face.  The place is a death trap - the bugbears have a strong balance of ax-wielding front fighters backed up by crossbow marksmen and casters.  Always moving their forces - so we’ll be facing ambushes all the way in and out.

We have one goal here: to obtain the chieftain’s head.

And from what I’m seeing I guarantee we’ll fail if we waste our time chipping gems.  Save that for another time.  I’d be willing to help with a later expedition to mine gems.

But if we mix priorities, most, if not all of us, will die.

I too have to agree with Krysthalien on the matter that the island is a very, very perilous place. This means that extreme caution will have to be taken, and if it is acceptable by you who wish to have gems, I suggest that the mining operation would be postponed to a later time, and I of course pledge my services to this future adventure, if it should happen.

Aye, tis a quest done and done well.  I believeth a special thanks art in order to the Lady Devil with the blade, Rayenoir, who joineth us at last possible moment and through her skill and daring hast raised the spirits of those who despaired on the first(mainly mineself).  I tippeth my hat to thee and to the others whose skills and talents led to our success: Krys, our reluctant but steadfast leader, Starr of the Deep Mother, Brother Jaleel of Rofirein, and our most august spellweaver - Godim, orchestrator and planner.  Huzzah !  Prithee, if any of thee requireth a shield or blade, pray callest on mineself forthwith.
