Kabroi Doombreaker's notes since the Summoning
« on: August 02, 2006, 07:49:08 PM »
*Sitting at a table littered with empty bottles*
//(translated to common for readability)
*Scribbles on a hickory scroll*
Me think's it might me time to start recording my experiencies in this world. The Father has been kind to me - allowing me to slay many, many eviol crittors.

*mutters*
but their really shouldn't be so maney of these eviol crittors!
so lets see here, whats me done?

*scribbles*
I've made some friends liken cusin Ke Koa 'n cusin Teg
And been adventuring wit'n Lilly 'n Doc 'n that nasty, nasty elf Ami mungst others
Adventuring be most fun - get'n the blood ah flowing and chargin inta the battles 'n

*mutters*
strange, but me thinks I've really started to hate those eviol crittors -
'speshly when dey's insist on being so eviol

*scribbles*
lets me help out some of de's people like dat silly girl over there

*looks over at Ragrian*

*scribbles*
and those good guards with their desire fer proof of me goblin slay'n skills.

*mutters*
enough bout me exploits, what else have i noticed?

*scribbles*
I've noticed their are few followers of Vorax here and was surprised to find a half giant like Zug to be so devout while my good friend Ke Koa is an apostate!

*mutters*
He's still a good dwarf though - holds his own with the pick & hammer.

*scribbles*
Moining be good to. Doesn't release the hatred though,

*mutters*
but helps work up a good thirst. speaking of which.......

*absent-mindedly stuffs note into a pouch & orders another ale*

A note on Kabroi's first attempt at a journal

20 minutes later Kabroi pulls a hickory scroll from his pouch, waves it over a candle, & uses it to light his pipe......

*Taking a break from the forge*
*scribbles on an envelope*
Note to me:
Still owe Daralith coin for jewlery.

*grumbles*
Strange one that one is - gives me the creepies.
Good jewlery though - hope it doesn't hold a hidden curse.....

*stuffes the note into Buffe's bag* (Kabroi's ox)

//UPDATE after paying Daralith

*pulls the envelope from Buffe's bag & places in the forge*

*mutters*
whew, I'm glad that buisness is done...

*While resting at the Hlint crossroads*

*mutters*
I really must start keeping a better journal...

*scribbles on a s... of paper*

Had a good conversation with Doc today about death. He seems to think it's a bad thing.

*shakes head in wonder*

Didn't seem to understand when I told him I had heard that as long as I die in a just battle, the Father will make sure I am saved and return even stronger....

*mutters*
pure silliness....

*takes a long drag on his pipe & turns a thirsty eye to the Inn*

*takes a seat in a corner of the smithy* *pulls out a new hickory scroll and fresh raven quill* The Saga of Kabroi of the Doombreakers  Now that has a certain ring to it eh!  *scribbles*  Today I met another cousin, Relyt. He's quite devoted to the Father of Battle. I could see him growing into a shield dwarf in the service of Vorax. We had a good ro with the izardmen o' the high moors. While we were working on our battle skills I found some traps.  Later I met up with Berilu, a trusty if shadowy little one and passed the traps to her. She seemd quite pleased. We joined forces with my good friend Ke Koa and snuck some iron out of the Haven mines. I hope to be able to smelt it soon.  Finally Doc and I went back to the moors. Those izardmen really get under my skin. We found a cave - and I could feel the evil of it. The izards were strong and forced us back, but we'll gather some more forces and head back sometime.  *tucks the scroll back in his cloack*  Well that's a good start!  *quaffed an ale & saunters back to the forge*

*Back in the smithy, Sitting next to Buffe*
*Pulls out his Saga and continues writting*

Today I met a couple more cousins.

Doc and I headed over to Drager to go exploring. We met up with Lilly n' Ami n'
Ketil. Ketil is a very strong, but sneaky cousin and doesn't speak so well. We killed many giants!

Later we met Brother Garnet. Brother Garnet is very devoted to our Father in Battle. We helped Brother Garnet hunt for the head of a Giant leader. I don't think we were of much help, but maybe next time.

I should talk to Garnet sometime about how to better serve Vorax......

*dozes off into a noisy snore*

Great news this week! In a flurry of trading and dealing I was able to obtain a nice set of bronze full plate armour. This should really help against those nasty Orcs in the mines. *smiles*  But even better, I was able to get not one, but two new war axes this week! Good ol' Doc and his dog found me a nice little bronze piece that puts me ol' copper one to shame.  And then, the fabled Dorax Windsmith a'greed to accept a 'mission for an IRON war axe. It's a great onor to be carrying the work of shuch a smithy!  *tests the weight of an axe in each hand & grins*

It's been a while since I wrote much.

I've been much too busy trying to protect the local mining reserves. The Iron reserves of Haven have taken a specially bad beatun. Ogre's have swarmed the moin. I've been working the kiln & anvil and am now able to make many weapons, arrows, n' stuff.

I've donated many of my creations to the service of Toran. It's a shame I need to travel so far to find a temple of Vorax. Soon I will be ready to make a pilgrimage. I will be sure to bring many offerings, including my collection of old axes.

*smiles as he thinks of visiting the temple of Vorax*

Y'know, I should go this month! I need to get back to work on the anvil & start preparing.

Well I climbed the grey prak mountains today with little trouble.  erhaps its a sign I am ready to head south and seek the temple of Vorax?

On a different subject, a new friend Mel has been most helpful in procuring iron for me anvil. Perhaps I will take some of my handywork with me?

*smiles as he stuffs his pile of parchments back in Buffe's pack*
*takes a long pull on his new oak pipe*

Well now ain't that a doozy! It must have been a sign!
Happened across a group of em going mointan climbing in the Bergans & they were kind enough to show me the way to Shoufal & the Temple. A strong poet, Farros was the leader & Will & Praylor joined us. Unfortunately our party was tainted with a blasphemous elf who failed to realize the sacred ground he tread. I know not & care not his name, but should I see him alone - I may have to teach em a lesson in respect!

On the bright side, I was able to donate both me old axe & some of me handiwork from the anvil! It was quite the trip - I saw both the King & Queen. The gift shop even sold me a handy flag of Vorax!

Ultimately I must face the fact the facts. It's DISGUSTING the number of giants, yes I SAID GIANTS, that keep young travelers from our Father's house! Of all the evils! I must work to do something about this!
