An Ongoing Epic of Will Stone
    « on: September 10, 2006, 03:23:50 PM »
What a busy day I have had.  My first day as an official Paladin for Toran has been most exciting.  Upon going to Hlint in search of works of good, I immediately met some fine citizens with unfortunate circumstances.  It has been difficult to carry out all the task, for not all conform exactly with my unswerving faith.  The quartermaster for example asked me to return some ears of goblin scouts.  While the goblins are infact dangerous to those walking on the west side of Hlint, I feel sorry for their lack of understanding of this complex world.  They probably know no better.  It was only the children I saw in Hlint near the well, that reminded me of my duty.  I though of one of these poor innocent children becoming slaughtered by these pesky creatures.  Still I will not kill just for pleasure, only to protect those that need it.  In any event I gathered the ears.  A later trip took me deep into their hideout for the Wagonmaster.  He said a goblin chief was at the center of the problems within the caverns and that by removing him, I would aid the town and him greatly.  This was a more worthy opponent.  While the small goblins offered little as opponents, I knew that they must perish in order for me to slay their leader.  A Dwarven friend was great aid to me in this adventure, as the sword is still a bit heavy and the plate armor I wear is tough to bear.  Soon though I will be able to do more on my own.  This dwarf, Kabroi Doombreaker, aided me also in obtaining the essence of will o' wisp creature, crazy litte creatures those are.  They seem to have some affinity towards lizards as a band of the lizard folk attacked us.  The dwarf was sure powerful though, in a whirlwind fashion, it seemed all of these pests had fallen.  This really made me feel proud to be part of a higher cause.  This dwarf of Vorax and I, a Paladin of Toran had ridded the world of some evil and made it safer for those less fortunate to travel the forests and swamplands.  In the end, alot has happened my first few days here in Hlint.  I moved up to Fort Llast also and obtained some work, should prove to be intersting.  I know that some tasks will be difficult to accomplish though, especially those involved in killing innocent animals.  A fur trader asked me to gather some furs, but I was unable to attack at first.  I waited tell I was sufficiently hungry to slay the animals so that their meat would hold me over for a few days, and their killin would not just be for profit.  Well, I must run and get some more ink, for I am running out, may the Eye of Toran watch over me.

Exciting.  I went to Grey Peak Mountains.  It was a fairly large party, but good thing, we ran into ogres.  I took great pride in assisting in the slaying of these evil creatures.  But in honesty, a halfling litte tike name Lilly seemed to do all the work, she really can swing a sword.  After this we moved on the Bugbear island and slew the chief.  This is why I became a Paladin of Toran, to slay evil and protect the unprotected.

On a more interesting note, I got an Iron Longsword today from a nice chap.  It should fit me well, I already notice differences in battle and that I am getting stronger.  Drats, runnin out of ink.  Well, godspeed and may Toran be with me.

Well I continue to patrol the areas around Hlint in search of protecting the unprotected.  Some vicious orcs just north of Hlint have met my sword as well as a band of mercanaries on the eastern side of Hlint.  Further east in the swamps I have found some Lizard-like men that have proven to be a bit more worthy opponent, yet they too have perished.  In all cases, more seem to appear, there seem to be no end to the evil in this land.  I will meditate upon the beliefs of Toran to see if anything else can be done.  One thing is for sure, I will search the ends of the earth to eliminate this evil.

On a lighter note, I have found quite the affinity for tinkering and tailoring, these skills interest me greatly and the resources can all be found on my patrol paths.  Quite Good.

Today I met a very difficult woman as I was about gathering resources to fill an order.  As I came upon my usual space to gather clay, a skunk came and attacked the young woman.  Toran would not let me watch this poor young woman be attacked so I came to her aid.  As I did, she fled the attack and gathered the clay, leaving none for me.  Very disturbing that even when you help others, people are not always grateful and courteous.  Still, I will continue to protect those around me.

It has been a while since we spoke last journal.  I have truly learned a great deal since our last visit.  A jewel maker, Eredel, has provided me with some amulets and rings that work quite nicely with some of my paladin training.  I am making regular patrols now, and finding less difficulty in coming back unscathed.  I find recenlty I have been spending a lot of time in the forest near Hlint.  There seems to be a market for silk, and the forests are abundant with it.  Spiders also found in the land have appeared dangerous to innocent travellers, so I have taken it as my duty to destroy them.  Even further south, a group of Ogres seems to be infesting the forest, at first they proved to be difficult, but now they fall at my sword in but a few blows.  And even further south, more spiders and dire creatures.  This area has kept me busy.

Still though, I do find time to travel to other areas with some fine adventurers.  Kabroi, Ke'Koa, Doc and Lillian have provided me with some great adventures into the Haven mine and the Barabarian Isles.  These efforts have provided me with some much needed gold to pay my Jeweler.

Even with all these adventures and my regular patrol path, I still find myself drawn to the local crypts as well as those in surrounding villages.  I have a thirst for killing the undead.  Kabroi, Doc and I ventured into the Krador crypts to slay the undead and help a Krandor child find some ashes of a relative.  The undead for some reason, seem to fall by sword easier.  My paladin abilites aid me a great deal in bringing these vile creatures to their end.

Well, my time is far spent in these pages, it is time to go back and journey in the wilderness.

Toran has blessed my weapon and the crypts are now a joke.  The skeltons and zombies run at the sight of me entering.  The gouls seem to try to put up a fight, but my sword tip kills them in one stroke.  While they dont prove anymore to be worthy opponents, its still paramount that i keep these crypts clean of these vile creatures.

My other adventures have taken me all over Mistone.  Harpies are a new opponent I have met, it seems they attempt to charm my mind, wasted effort though.  They are not so strong, but there numbers are many, therfore, they are a worthy opponent for me at this time.  Plus they seem to ambush innocent people traveling along the roads.

I have heard talks of a trainer, one that can teach me the ways of the sword with the undead of this world.  I will continue to search for this trainer, his efforts may help me in ridding future crypts of more vile creatures.  Toran I am sure will guide me to this teacher if it be his will.

On a more business note, I have started working with two dwarves in forming a business.  I am providing tailoring services to the company while they provide weapon making and jewelery making.  We seem to complimate each other and make a good team as we go out and look for resources to supply the business. Time will tell if this business works out, I feel it will though.  Well, my eyes are becoming heavy, God Speed.

As time passes I grow stronger and stronger.  Just the other day I ventured into Haven mines all by my lonesome.  Some ogres there gave me a bit of scare but i managed to kill all of them on the 1st level.  Fearing more powerful creatures below, I decided to venture no further.  Not very paladinic, I disagree, I am no use to Toran dead, therefore I shall wait tell a bit stronger before going further.  However, I have found a few friends to make the trip with.  Kabroi and Ke'Koa, the dwarven cousin whom I am in business with, venture into the caves in search of Iron and other minerals.  To date we have been succussful.  I have also found the Barb Isles to be quite rich with coin, and with the proper equipment, the kobalds and goblins there fall quite easy.  Still, though, the crypts of Hlint seem to be attracting me more and more.  Maybe I will search for somebody that has some greater powers than I over these undead.  Maybee there are still some powers left untapped within me that would help me conquer the more powerful undead creatures in surrounding lands.

I am also fortuante to have friends like Praylor, he has offered me some good advice in the past few days, which has helped a ton.  Toran travels with him, I can feel it, I shall continue to look to him as a mentor while I wait to find a slayer of the undead.

I continue to hone my crafting skills as well.  As of late my entire focus has been in tailoring.  This is to be my contribution to out store.  It is coming, but proves very expensive.  Still, I am now starting the be able to make some equipment that is useful, maybe a catch a few coin for them to fund future experiments.

May Toran travel with me always is my humble prayer this day.  Good day.
