I've seen bulletinboards on other servers, all fancy and menu driven. Bah! We don't need that old technology here in Layonara! We have the ability for a bulletin board of the future!
  If a persistent storage chest were placed outside the Wild Surge, players could put scribed parchments into it as notices. If you wanted to do any coding or make it fancier, instead of a chest it could look like a bulletinboard and only accept parchments, LORE messages, buried treasure maps, and NPC quest parchments.
  Over time messages would be removed (probably by newbies looting it to sell to the pawn shop), old ones torn down to make room for new ones (max inventory set to one page of notices), etc.
  I have placed two NPC quest chests, one outside the Wild Surge and another outside the Prantz bank, to hold Pig's notices. I suspect the chests won't last long even though I made the note title say "((examine to read, do not remove from chest))." That's what gave me this idea.

That's been suggested before, and vetoed due to the lag such items would create.  (It might be possible to code a "fence", but I suspect he'd be flooded with requests quickly.)

PnP, not sure what you mean by this:

Are you using the quest system for storage?

@Leanthar - Yes, I used the NPC quest storage chests.  I chose the "blank parchment" option on each.  The one in Hlint was gone in a few hours so I placed another.  Inside each chest was a parchment with my advertisement in addition to the blank parchment that comes with the chest.

@crazedgoblin & darkstorme - You two understand I am not talking about an NPC merchant system, right?  This is just a container to hold parchments that could be RPed as being tacked to a bulletinboard.

It wasd rarely used other than people signing a towns board saying they had been there.

Yeah, I was surprised. But like G stated. It was very rarely used after the novelty wore off to the point we just got rid of them.

ah but to be able to leave your impritn. Rain Darsus was here .. one could only await a new one to be set up. New race. the first to write he/she was there in every city of layo hehe..
