    Looking for a teacher
    « on: October 19, 2006, 05:13:43 PM »
*Gilli drags a chair over from the nearest table to stand on while posting his note*

I've recently decided that I want to learn a little more of the ins and outs of battle, and primarily the proper use of a shield since I've never even picked one up. I'd like to be taught by someone who possesses some of the same skills and focuses as me like hiding, sneaking, and acting as a scout. With that in mind, it seems that one of the ranger's discipline would be the proper candidate for the job.
*In his excitement of getting the message posted, Gilli forgets to move the chair back to the table he got it fromas he leaves the inn*

//this is currently unfinished as is, I'll add more when I get home and have time, so don't post just yet.

Currently I use a shortbow as my main weapon, though I am at least as skilled with a shortsword as well. From time to time I am interested in wielding two weapons at once, and have used woodcutting axes in this way. I chop branches a little quicker, so maybe I could chop goblins a little quicker. Oh yes, I don't like to see woodland animals killed unnecessarily, and maybe I would like to be able to talk to them one day.

Please leave a note here or send me a private message bird if you are interested in the job.

//Couldn't edit the original post I guess. Times IG are a little washy at the moment, but once a  time is decided I'll make sure I can be there barring any mandatory RL obligations of course. Generally weekday evenings PDT/PST [GMT -8] can work, and normally much longer on saturday evenings and sunday morning/afternoon.

*Gilli repositions his note a little higher on the board, trying to draw the attention of the taller folk. A couple laughs can be heard as he nearly slips off of the chair back*

*Relyt walks in and notice the note that is highest up and has to step back to get a better look*

Ah...sum'one wanna try ter learn 'bout a shield eh? Don' know much 'bout a'mals let 'lone talkin ter dem. *scratches his head and sighs as he sling his pack over his shoulder starts to walk out while talking to himself quietly* Mebbe Io could show 'em 'ow afer Io'm dun wit' dis trip...agian. *as he was getting ready to leave out the door he stops takes out his shield and examine the surface* Need ter get a knew'in one b'fer Io show Gilli 'ow ter use one.
*before he gets to the door he turns and tips toes to reach the note and signs his name under it*

Guess I can show you how to use a shield, but not the animales things. But I'm on a trip once agian. If someone else wants to teach you go ahead, it's not up to me who you choose when I'm gone. And if no one volunteers I can show you once I'm back.

        In a barely legible scrawl:

Gilli- I can help you with the animals, the shield, the weapons, the bow, the scouting, and how to walk on your hands.

Scratch that, I can help you with some of it (particularly the walking on the hands!) but I can introduce you to someone who can cover all of it in a nice halfling package called Sneak. Let me know when you're around!

*Gilli returns to pull down the notice with a short hop as he passes the board. It seems he has either found what he was looking for, or possibly changed his mind. He whistles as he strolls out of the Surge and tosses the crumpled note into a trashbin*
