Funny things happen all the time on Layo. I have had my fair shares of them, but tonight had to top them all. Well tonight on a quest with Quantum, I have been playing him as he is getting a bit older (Around the age of 32).

In game I am saying things like I am getting to old for this, my eye sight is get worse, his joints pop, and other things. No sooner then I say my eye sight is not as good as it was when I was younger. I send a tell to a gm stating I was going to do a spot check. The roll was 1+10=11. I could not stop laughing. I belive the gm was craking a smile to.

I know many things happen in Layo, but I would like to hear some of the funny ones. Bring a smile to my face.

I watched a deer running down the road to eastside Hlint tonight.. as though to enter town. A chicken ran out of the open meadow just outside the gate and attacked the deer. It had chased the deer almost back to the swamp when the deer fell and the chicken calmly walked away without a scratch (no pun intended). I wonder what the druids think about this? The chicken didn't even take the hide or meat. After watching this bird in action I decided I had best leave it alone with it's kill. I did not wish to be the next victim of this vorpal chicken. That bird is death in feathers and a sharp pointy beak (motions with is fingers).

My favorite would have to be while exploring with Bumblebee:
Bumblebee: *wis check* 12+0=12
Bumblebee: I don't think we should disturb the gnolls.

J'ser: ...

Or while playing Xilo Who, the cleric of Shadon...

X:Shadon.
Y:Eww.
X:Aww.

Or when J'ser accedently turned himself blue.

Or when a GM appeared to me as I was randomly following someone:

Rhynn fails important wisdom checks all the time. She has a +0 To it, and seems unable to roll above a six. The dice bag is nice enough to know how I intend on playing her.

As such I get things like "You see a giant dragon"

Maybe we should poke it!

So, there was a large, battle-ready party down in the dungeon of the Eye, and Grok was along as a powerhouse bad-guy-masher. As we all know, Grok eats. Constantly. So, whenever they killed something, he would usually at least sniff at it to see if it was any good.

So, we get through the dungeon, get to the central chamber... And no Beholder Mage! So we start back out, pause at the door to pray, prepare spells, and take five, and Grok (on my hunch) sniffs at the air. He thinks he smells something, so he goes on down the hall. Next I know, on the OTHER END of the hall, the party's wailing on a big ol' beholder. They kill it, search the corpse, don't find the Quest Item drop they're looking for. When I get there, I tap Tab, and see Remains sitting there.

So Grok goes over, sniffs at the corpse, tears off an eyestalk (which happens to be covered in magical runes, no less) and starts nibbling on it. OOC, I loot the Eye Stalk of a Beholder Mage, and EVERYONE LOOKS AT ME.

They all shout for Grok not to eat it, and it's five minutes before he realizes he's done something good. *Grins.*

On a Stormspirit quest. Tarradon running out front of the main party to see that the path is safe reaches the transition between Krandor outskirts and Broken Forest. Takes a moment to stop, turn to the party and announce with a confident smile that all is clear. Just as several mages, clerics and nasty people appear from invisibility behind him and take him out.

On a CDQ for Klaugrangrenique Dragonbane's past Weston, Gulnyr, and Klaug visit the ruins of his families manor.

Virtually every check was a 1

Spot check for hidden path to manor "1"

Weston "Good heavens!"

Gulynr: "What? ye' see sumthin?"

Weston: "I'll say! I've a smudge on my left boot... Can't go about looking like that you know.. bad form*

Gulynr: *grumble*

Spot check vs flying monster... 1

Klaug: "Look!"

Weston: "By all that's right!.... I've a dent in my chestplate! How utterly embarassing"

Listen check vs roar... 1...

Gulynr: "Did ya hear that!"

Weston: "Hmm? what?.. Oh oh yes.. very lovely tune... what was it again?"

later on:

Weston: "I'm so very sorry Sir Klaug... I had no idea that was your Mother's remains...... and your Grandmother's.. er.. my most sincear appologies...... .... .... And.. .. if I had only known it was your father's canopic jar..."

Klaug: "Weston... please.. just... don't say anything... or touch anything..."

later:

Weston: "Wait.. we should use a bit of my magic and then run through the fire"

Dm: [tell] Doc.. make a wis roll

Weston: "Wis roll 1+0 = 1" [local]

Dm: [tell] It's a GREAT idea!

Weston: "I say! That's probably one of my best ideas yet!... Brilliant if I do say so myself"

Klaug: "Lets go the other way"

Dm: [tell] yeah.. to bad.. you should have run through the fire .. would have saved you alot of pain

About six monthes back Thrain was going from Karthy towards the freelancers under the influence of heavy lag and ale. I was walking through the river section before the bloody gate outskirts. I had had no idea that evil dwarves lived on a hill in the bloody gate outskirts also had no protection up. Great I think, another dwarf, near the water. Off with my helmet, put away my axe,took out my pipe and finish saying my name in dwarven while walking up to him.

For some reason I did not hit tab and had never seen a dwarf there before so I thought it was another PC. Well as you can guess he attacked and I went running around the lake area being hacked up by the dwarf and a few falcons and cursing myself for being so trusting, then I died.

No clue he was an NPC until he hit me.

"Are YOU From Alindor Sent here by Cricket!?"

Halfling: I Just wanted a beer..Jeez...

*The group with Rhynn in front crowds the door again. a couple walks in*

"Are YOU From Alindor sent by Cricket"

Rhynn proceeds to follow those people around all the while being tapped on the shoulder by a lecherous Drunk.

"I was just...going out with my wife...some people..."

*tap tap tap*

"What!?"

"You like men from Alindor"

"...Are you from Alindor sent by Cricket?"

"You like Crickets, Want to see mine?"

At which point I OOC started to get kind of freaked out and got at least 3 snarky messeges...

*Drunken man pulls dead crickets from his pocket and starts petting and tallking to it*

At which point Rhynn gives up....

The most amazing thing Uilliam as ever seen was outside the Krandor crypts. As a bunch of brave, but worn down heroes fled for their lives from a pair of flaming skeletons. They in panic ran out of the crypt an up into the town, only to be pursued by the foul undead. When what did save them? Why the little girl Nikky and her brave cows!

As battle was joined, the heroes fled still. But Nikky and her dairy stock commrads pressed into action. In a genius display of small group tactics, they quickly surrounded the two undead, and gave them What For By the Gods!

The melee was feirce an chaotic, bone an beef were ah flying as vicous blows of flaming skeleton knuckle, and eight yeaor old girl fist, along with hoof were exchanged. The Gods themselves it is said stood back in horror from the pornographic level of violence in the battle become little more then a drunken inn bar brawl.

When all was done, Nikky stood alone, her brave cow cadre having sacrificed themselves to guard her flank. And the skeletons laid little more then dust and brittle bone on the ground as they still smoked with unatural fire. Her grandfather's ashes still missing did not discourage this Valkrye of a child. Nay, she did not even pause to shed a tear. She just with a level of dignity not seen anywhere else on all of Mistone went back to walking about aimlessly.

Actually, I didn't think that one was particularly ~funny~... I was very frustrated that everybody else had run away and my options were either to die or leave the crypt, thereby dragging the skellies to NPCs. I panicked and left as well (I was the last person) and I felt terribly guilty about it. Although I ended up dying anyway, so really I should've just stayed in the crypt as a sacrificial... bard. Nope, not funny.

I was the last ome out I thought? And yeah it sucks that people's characters died. But it was pretty funny circumstances you gotta admit. There we all are, getting to the lower level, taking it slow. Then suddenly, as we spot a group of skeleton chieftans and other undead, hey why wait for a buff or cleric to turn, just bolt forward and try and go toe to toe with them. I mean, you gotta admit that was priceless lack of common sense. Hell, I was even laughing as my character was running about for his life too. And then as I finally ditch me pursuers, an get to the exit, I step outside to see Nikky 'The Right Hook of Krandor' and her cows whooping skeleton ass as the 'Heroes' are running away. I'm sorry your character died, but God seeing a bunch of adventurers leaving a little girl to fight off undead was hysterical.

I'm not bothered that I died. I do that a lot. I'm just bothered about the skeletons being dragged to an NPC.

Just to make sure credit is given where it's due, I was only responsible for the first two, the fellow with the dead crickets was all Nova, so you have her to thank.

Funny moments, hmm...most of them lately have come from my alternate (Daren isn't much into humor)

After a quest Talan gives all participants holdable items, Hawklen gets a flower and Guddwick, a cross--

Guddwick- *holds out his cross and advances towards Minugi*
Minugi- *hisses mockingly, backs away slowly*
Hawklen- *feminine voice* Stoppit Guys! *giggles*

A strange orb of light is attracted to metal--

DM- *orb darts around Praylor's armor*
Falon- "Wonder what it wants..."
*Awkward silence*
DM- [tell] Get others to notice orb attracted to metal
Minugi- *tugs on Falon's robes*
Falon- "Yes Minugi?"
Mingui- *points to the orb, then Praylor, tracing the orb's motion around his armor*
Falon- "Yes, it seems to want something, but what?"
*Awkward Silence*
DM- *sparks dance along Praylor's armor and the orb quickens its pace*
Minugi- *points again to the orb, Praylor's armor, an traces the movements, motioning towards the sparks*
Falon- "Maybe its because Praylor is standing alone?"
Minugi- *slaps forehead*
*Awkward Silence*
Falon- "Ooooooh, Perhaps you should change out of your armor Praylor, in fact, everyone should"
*Minugi walks around to each person in turn and motions for them to change out of their armor, they do, everyone stands around for another long awkward silence*
DM- *orb comes over and dances around Minugi's armor*
Mingui- *slaps self in forehead, changes out of armor*

Um. And you think that's what being 32 is like?

Anyway my funniest moment is anything involving Maple or Earl but I haven't seen either of them for a month now...

Where do people go anyway?
