Layonara Flyers ?
« on: January 15, 2007, 10:07:00 PM »
Hello L, Team,

After playing here for over a year, I have become fairly addicted to Layo.  I would like to share my addiction with other Aussie's.  To this purpose are there any Layonara Flyers I could print and leave at the local roleplaying club?

If not, and given L's thumbs up.  Is there a graphic artist willing to put one together?

Cheers,

Stragen
Local Layo Pusher.

That sounds good to me. Just run the flyger by me before it is posted please.

I took them offline Lynn. I was spending $49 a year to allow people to purchase them (for 2.5 years). So while spending $125 I only brought in $25 in that same period. The community is just no large enough for me to justify that kind of price/expense with the other hundreds of dollars I lose every single month. When the community gets to be about 5x the size it is now I might bring it back as then I would probably break even with things.

It would be really cool (and much appreciated) if everybody in the community advertised for Layonara via emails, forums, banners, websites, whatever it may be. :) Go for it!

ya. used to be RO (Recruitment officer) for my last server. I put alot of advertisements in Roleplayign forums and whenever the server wa sdown or i found myself in the chat i broguht up servers and such. The key wa sjust putting it out there. you guys have a pretty huge community though. i've never seen less than 7 people on at a time, and i'm up at all hours (insomniac). It's insane that a apply to play server has as many players as a come in at will server liek blackstone or Amia. So you guys are obviously already doign something right heh.

I only ask that when advertisement happens that proper sentences and sentence formation (to include captalizations and such) are followed. :) It is important that players have the knowledge that the server is professional and not sloppy.... not having proper sentences gives the impression of sloppy or lazy.

Alright, thanks for the reply L....would've loved going around in a Milara shirt though....

Hrm...Iron ons and blank T-shirts. Customize! Layosayings! ...I would definitley walk around in something like

"Deathward is for Panzies"

or

"When in doubt about disputing a Ritual, Shoot the Mage"

Hey Stragen, when you get the flyer approved let me know. There is a game shop near me that I will go post it at.

You might check out selling them (the T-shirts) through Zazzle.com.  They also do poster sized prints and other things.  You wouldn't get the full sale value of the products you sold, but you do get a percentage and it doesn't cost you anything at all to set up and maintain a gallery of products on Zazzle.  Just a thought.

Oh, and you can also earn a referal bonus for people who buy your own products or other peoples products at Zazzle after getting there using a link on your website.

Stragen - If L says it's okay I can toss you some small versions of the layo logo if you don't have the one you're looking for.

Stragen, you are welcome to request them from us. Talan, I have stated to you before that logos and art are not to be given out without coming through me first...that includes going to you and me at the same time. That sort of thing needs to go through me or somebody else that I designate.

My wife is a graphic designer and she just said to me (with a disdainful and semi-amused expression I might add) that she could do the design/layout for such a flyer but, of course, would need to be provided with all the copy.

Lemme know.

Dear All,

1) Leanthar, I request that you send 'the copy' of your graphics to Pseudonym so that his wife can do the design.

2) I'll write some text for Pseudonym's better half to add to the flyer.  I'll borrow heavily from the Layo website front page (will be direct copy for most sections), with a bit of pruning; it may be too much text for a flyer.  I'll include system requirements and L's copyright clause.

3) Pseudonym can you please send Stragen a PM with your email address please.  I'll send the text for the flyer to you, via Email.

4) Pseudonym will take the lead on finalising the Flyer. Then and email it to Leanthar for approval.  If it needs editing Leanthar can respond directly back to Pseudonym.  Pseudonym is a better writer/editor then me anyway.

5) When it's all done L can add it to the downloads section of the BBS so we can all download it and print and pass it to our friends and local roleplay groups.

6) Yay!

Cheers,

Stragen

7) PS: phew.

I propose you write the text first before we send out any graphics. Thanks.

I agree with Ed. You write everything up and get it ready then when it is ready for the last thing (the logo) we will get that to you. At that time we can get together again for a final approval sort of thing, and then I could get it on the website.
