Color Black for Tailoring Loom - Closed
    « on: March 12, 2007, 08:39:27 PM »
I'm not sure if it's just my computer, but the color BLACK seems to be a dark green instead when dying it to clothes on the loom. The only true black is PURE BLACK if I'm remembering correctly, but this isn't available as an option. This never happened before the update so I figured it's at least worth mentioning here.

Dark gray is now the real black.

I have been told the same, although on my screen Black was Black as shown in Lex'or pics.

I've tried Dark Grey and compared it to my clothes that was dyed before the update and there is a major difference between the two. I've decided to test it out at a friends house and with a brighter screen the difference becomes more obvious. I'm guessing maybe Black became Pure Black after the update, since the option only becomes available with clothes that I dyed before the update but as soon as I try other colors it disappears.

Actually, Dark Grey was used as black before (and still is), but there is a new color called Black that is darker.  The old color that was called Black is now called Dark Shiny Grey, I think.

On the topic, the Black color looks black to me, so this may be something specific to your computer, Tialle.  My first thought is to check the brightness and contrast of your monitor.  I've seen those cause black to appear greenish.

It may just be a difference between the way your video card displays what NWN tells it to compared to other video cards.  Cole Norseman used to get some giggles for his armor, which looked red to some but pink to others.  It wasn't really a problem with the game or Cole's fashion sense, and wasn't any sort of bug that could be fixed.  It was just a difference in computers.

Could be since I've only tried this on two computers both with Nvidia cards.
Although, it would still be great to at least have Pure black as an option on the Tialoring Loom.

there is more people who saw it look dark green rather than black. When i was modifying my armor and other things I asked the people arround and all said it looked more like really dark greanish colour.

From what I can tell anything dyed as Black during V2 is now seen as Pure Black by the tailoring loom. As for the clothes that is dyed in V3 under the option Black it comes out as a darkish green for me. Unfortunately, Pure Black is not an option when dying clothes during V3.

Pure Black is not generally available.

What was Pure Black in V2 is still Pure Black in V3.  The indicies of the colors have not changed between the two versions, but what may have changed are the color names.

Remember that the lighting in a given area can affect how a given color appears on screen.

There are several outfits that I dyed as Black in V2, and right after the update they became Pure Black according to the Tailoring Loom. Anything I dye now as Black comes out to a darker green for me. I normally wouldn't be able to tell since my monitor is a bit dim on the lighting but after casting the spell Light in the Craft Hall and then roaming around different areas with my newly dyed clothes the difference was painfully obvious.  Now that we're on the subject about the lighting in the Craft hall... erm never mind.

            Bug Report

Descrition: This is not really a bug, but more a perception questinon regarding the colour black used by the crafting modifcations tools. This should be removed.
