booted
« on: March 15, 2007, 06:28:42 AM »
I was trying to join mixafix's quest this morning. He ported me to the GM area where I ported to central. Well Central is not up and now every time I log back into Layo I get booted after about 1 min. Help please.

I just checked the server status....it shows that central is up and populated. But when I log into Gamespy I only get Layo-West, Quest and East. No Central???

Please do a direct connect (don't use gamespy) to central.layonara.com

Yeah, I never ever use Gamespy. I don't recall the last time I connected through gamespy over the past 5 years. I find that it causes extra lag when I go through gamespy and sometimes the server listing on gamespy is not correct.

I always use direct connect on all of the servers.

west.layonara.com
central.layonara.com
east.layonara.com
planes.layonara.com
quest.layonara.com

If anyone is interested, I use 4 batch files on my desktop - one for West, one for Central, one for East and one for Quest.

A double click and i am here!

It also sets up the Gnomish Log Rotator for me. If anyone wants a copy of it let me know and I will make them available. I do however appreciate that the icons are now out of date!

using that is not compatible with the log rotator if you have it, as it needs to use its own ".exe". The easiest way is to simply save your server into the favorite tab, when you go in to choose which server to play. liek this when you enter multyplayer, press ok for your accound let the server load up, click on favorite and you would see the server you have added to that page. and only those you have added.

Actually Hellblazer, that's not true.

I use direct-connect icons for both player and GM connections and GLR is hooked into all of them.  Each direct-connect icon is associated with a batch file, which handles the NWN/GLR hook-up.

What Dorg says about the GLR. GLR works exceedingly well if launched via batch file.

If anyone is interested in my batch files then i have posted them here

I use them as well for both the GM and Player side. Work very well for me, but I want those custom Icons!  Mine are the boring NWN ones !
