Of darkness and light- Xune the Huntress
    « on: March 18, 2007, 05:47:31 PM »
I first arrived in Fort vehl the city of men about 6 months ago and I have learned much since that day.  I walked from the woods and fallowed a well worn trail that lead me too this fort. I was quite surprised and disgusted too see a half bread Orc as the gate captain. This would be a strange new world in deed. I covered my self from head too foot so none would see my dark elven heritage for my father often spoke that our kinds was unwelcome on the surface world even among its outcast.  With this orc trusted with the cities wellbeing if ever there was a place I would be welcomed this was it. However my father was a wise man so I followed his advice and too this day have let none see who I truly am.

My first few days were spent exploring the fort and the surrounding areas and the crypt below the town. I must say there are very few adventures here and I will have too move on soon if Im ever to gain any sizeable skills as a ranger of the forest.  There are quite a few dwarves mercinaries a short distance from town too practice my skills on. For here my adventures among the world of men has started.

A few days after I first arrived at the fort I meet a good cleric named Tariana. We worked quite well together. I was running towards town a little injured and her was kind enough too heal me.  We hunted the many Zombies together in the out skirts and well within the gloom woods. I must admit they make great targets for one skilled with the bow there so slow moving and easy too run from. I definitely improved my aim on those undead. I laid a countless number of them too rest that day and for weeks too follow. Even hunting them by my self. There are some nasty orges in a cave there. Nasty jellies too Ill speak more of them latter.

I greatly enjoyed moving about unnoticed my zombies and ogres, practicing my skills and stealth and detection. I think Im a pretty good scout now and I know it shale serve me well in the future. However Im not sure now but it will come in handy.

My second month proved the most exciting so far among the land of men. I meet two strange travelers one named Sharher Cullair an elven maiden who was also a ranger, and her companion Erik williams a half elven cleric.  We hunted together and explored the ogre caves in outer edges of the gloom woods. Our bows rained down arrows on those dirty ogres and many fell amongst us.  Its the jellies that ware the true bane of that cave.  We fought well into its interior and meet a most foul jellie that has the ability too freeze you in your tracks. Youre paralyzed and can not move. Brave Erick was the first too succumb too its powers then Sharhar. I was the lucky one. It got me as well however I was left alive barely. I used my skills of moving among the shadows too make my was too the cave entrance. I rested there however the foul jellies followed my I quickly ran out eh cave and past the two guars out side.  I ran straight too town. I was faster than the orgies so I made it there safely.

I gathered a small party too go back and visit the graves of the fallen however the cave proved too powerful and we quickly decided too go else ware. Thats where I meet another even stranger pair. A half human half cat I now know as a wemic.  From the waist up she possessed the body of a human from there down that of a cat she walked on all four legs and clearly was from a more nomadic life style.  She was named Fena and was also a ranger. Her companion was a half elf named Kaillin also a ranger.  We hunted the undead of the gloom woods and killed a creature for a Halfling merch in the camp near by.  I have too admit those among the surface seems too like taking heads as prizes. It seems strange too me too be paid so many tures to the head of a fallen creature. Perhaps there is something too this adventuring after all. It would have taken me weeks if not months too hunt enough deer and rabbits too even come close too what I was paid for that creatures head. It seems hunting the inhabitants of this land of light pay well; Ill have too remembered that.

A week ago I arrived in port Hampstead; I traveled my boat from fort vehl.  I have too admit this place will prove much harder too blend into there are so many people and they seem too be how should I say better people.  I was happy too see many more adventures about town and it should prove much easier too gather together a party too explore the area.  I first ventured into the swerves for a woman who needed the pipes unclogged. I battled many rats and strange lizard creatures and was paid well for my efforts. Again it seems these humans will pay well too have things killed for them.

I meet the captn of the guard who is willing too pay well for these magic sticks the kobolds carry amongst them. It seems theres a camp not too distant from eh port where once can earn some coin. I meet a very friendly human mage named Tadhg McNeil he was indeed well versed in the ways of the arcane. And made quick work of the kobolds and there shamans. However we found none of the magic sticks among the dead.

Shortly there after Tadhg had other duties to attend too and I meet a friendly druid named coyote in his native toung and a half orc warrior simply named Babaki. Babaki is indeed a large and strong fellow.  Babaki agreed to help me get a stick and even ran off before I could even get up. We ended up covered in the blood and gour of the fallen kobolds however again no stick too speaks of.  Later Babaki talked about a human named Ozy who is wanted dead my some elf.  Coyote said this Ozy is not known too be evil and is infact one with great knowledge. Time and time again it seems killing pays quite well in this land. Every one seems too need some thing or someone killed and no one wants too dirty there own hands doing it.  Strange it seems they are more like too my home land than my father cared to tell me.  Im not sure if Ill even get used too this dammed bright light of this sun.

My first month here in port Hampstead has proven well worth the move from fort vehl. The last 3 weeks of that month were especially exciting.

several days ago i joined a sizeable party of about 6 total adventures too go to teh goblin waste lands and retrive teh red light goblin leaders head. Little did we know how hard a task that is. THouse red ligh tgoblins are allot harder than one would think. we did nto get very far before we were ambushed and started too lose members. several of us fell in battle. teh rest only barely escaped with our lives due too our stealth ness or invisiable spells.

How wer ewere nto exactly weak or inexperianced group however thouse red light goblins just seem quite powerful. I never would have expected slaves too be so powerful. My fatehr never spoke of gbolins this powerful. all seem too have teh power too call apon teh undergroth of teh caves too reach up and tangle up your feet and stop you in your tracks. I was ashamed too say teh fell me and i would have died if it had not been for eteh cleric Shale in you groupe who revived me.  How i'm in a small out post called hilnt that really seems too not have much of anything going for it.

the town guard seemes too have a problem with these goblins as well. he offered too pay me for 5 goblin ears. I don;lt understand the obsession with these surface dwellers with collecting body parts too prove you killed some thing. heads, ears whats next. It seems there's allot of money too be made in killing things i wonder if i should just colleact ears in general. I would need a oiled pouch so teh blood does not get on my new cloak.
