A question on Dominate Monster

I am pondering choosing this spell but I have a question about a certain aspect of the spell. It says in the desription that the target "monster" becomes a servant of the caster (if they fail the save of course). I am wondering if this term "monster" applies to persons as well much like the dominate person spell or is it just monsters? Basically I'm asking is this spell an effective "dominate anything that doesnt save" or does it still have restrictions as to what it can dominate such as the ones on dominate person. Thanks in advance

Dominate person seems to be for all humanoids, Dominate monster seems to be for everything else. And good luck beating the saves of the 'really good stuff'

Dominate monster works on
all
creatures that aren't immune to mind effects (like plants and undead), humanoid or otherwise.
