Not sure if this is the right place to ask but here goes
« on: November 29, 2007, 08:39:51 AM »
After Epic lvls are reached And your approved for multiclassing , what are the rules on the Level split , ive been approved to take fighter lvls with my cleric , how many lvls do i need to take after lvl 21 to keep in with the guidelines and rules ....
Id like to take one more cleric level at 26 and then from there onwards would be fighter levels but up to lvl 30 that would only make 4 fighter lvls , so might question is do i need 5 lvls in fighter before i get to lvl 30  or can i take the fith fighter lvl at lvl 31

You must have at least five levels in a class if you're going to take it at all; you've got that correct. All PC's must have at least five levels in their chosen classes prior to becoming epic. Upon reaching epic levels, you simply need to have five levels per chosen class before hitting 40th level.

So the answer is, no, you don't need five levels in fighter before 30th, but you do need five levels in it before 40th.

Hm... if I recall correctly, it's even more restricted than that.

On epic levels, when getting a new class, I think (important here! I think!... best to get it really confirmed!) you have to take 5 consecutive levels in that class. :)

That's what I was once told too. Once taking the new level it has to be in a row, didn't say when you can take it though. so if you raise Voon until 26 then go with fighter that would still work.

I'm pretty sure Weebie is correct - characters taking on a new class after level 21 are encouraged to take that new class in 5 consective levels. I don't believe there is a hard and fast "rule" on it, just a team preference.

Same applies to 5 levels before 20 when a character takes level 1 on one class then 15 levels of the second... it is encouraged that the splits remain close but not to this point enforced.

What we don't want is take 1 level of a class (for certain bonuses) and then say "I plan to take the other four from 37-40" because in the entire history of the server no character has reached 40.
So that won't fly :)

What i hoped to do was take my 26 cleric levels then the rest would all be Fighter till whatever level i reach no jumpping back and forth at all . And i plan on taking at least 5 Fighter levels if not more

Man. Shot down twice today. Okay, not really shot down in this thread, since there's not a hard fast rule, and since what I said is correct, only I failed to mention that the preference is to take at least five levels in a row after epic.... anyhow, you're still on track, mumbles, if you wait to take fighter levels until after the next level, then take five or more in a row, which apprently is what you plan to do. It doesn't matter whether it's before or after level 30, just that you take five consecutive levels of fighter.
