The Begining
I'm Jaigan Drakand I grew up in Dregar mostly in Seacove and often went to Lake Corax for the festivals with my family; my mother loves that time of year her name is Illiana Drakand and my father Anixius Drakand, he was just reported lost at sea while on a job working as a guard for a merchant ship destined for Voltrex. I'm considered an adult now and as much as my father pushed for me to follow in his footsteps of being a skilled duelist and captain of a small guard for mechant ships I'd rather not spend my time hunched over a boat rail watching lunch fall into the sea. Having been slapped on the back numerus times by his comrads, asking when I was gonna take up the Rapier and join them on a job. I finally get it through their heads that I'm not going to end up in his shadow for the rest of my life and he goes and gets himself hurled overboard during a pirate attack.

Speaking of shadows I do plan on learning how to control them sometime. This is something I've been reading into for some time now, well I say reading into however there's just about nothing written about them what so ever anywhere. In any case ever since I witnessed the murder of a wealthy silk merchant close to the docks one night I've been intrigued with the possibilities. It all happened when he suddenly flopped over on his face in front of his shop while locking it up for the night. I gaped looking around when I noticed a funny looking shadow. I suppose it was funny looking because it had eyes... and was looking at me. It said to someone that I could not see that I had good eyes; not thinking I told the Shadow that it too had lovely eyes while taking a few steps back I heard a woman's soft giggle and she said I should start running away. I'm assuming that I'm about to get a dagger between my shoulder blades and there's not anything I can do about it. Being just a tad bit irritated at my situation I told her I was not much for sport hunting and that she should just have at me and get it done with. The Shadow had a wicked smile now the kind those psycho's get when they're about to have a good time.

Turns out she didn't want to kill me and that I had to get out of there so I would not get blamed for the murder, something about messing up the hidden message of the kill and that if I was dead around the area it would ruin it all. Either way I managed to flatter a murderer "not sure if I should take some sort of pride in that or not" and disappoint a shadow who wanted to eat me, oh I know a disappointed look when I see one and when she said she was not going to kill me that shadow was definitely disappointed! I myself am not heavy into Deitie's my mother is, she favors' Aragen The Lord of Knowledge, actually I tend to fit in with Aragen well I do crave knowledge except that I don't like doing all the extra stuff like praying and walking around spreading the word I just want to get my hands on that bloody Lima Prima! Honestly they are going all paranoid over that thing as of late. I do have a plan though if I can get good enough like that woman with the shadow, I would be able to sneak into the place and nobody would ever know. my mother does not think it's right to even think of such things but I keep telling her that keeping all those books and secret teachings from the world is the real crime!

Oh right back on topic about me let's see, I'm a Moon Elf and you know what that means yup I'm short! Actually according to other elves I'm considered tall being 5'6 and 145lbs must be all that food my mother stuffs me with and I can't forget about all my father's (pre-guard training) he's been putting me through whenever he was around. He says I'll make a good scout being fast and quick on my feet. He actually stuffed me in armor one day to see if I could make for a good defensive halberd line yeah... that went just peachy, bloody sweating like a smithy and the smell, Light! It was terrible. Let's see I have green eyes and black hair that I keep short like most humans do. I sometimes run into ignorant humans that think I'm the reason for all their problems because I'm an elf I mean I know some of our kind can be arrogant and selfish but I'm not a Dark elf or a Gray Elf even one of them Wood elves who poke you with spears and shoot arrows at your feet if you so much as look at a forest. Oh well least I'm not Half Elf not accepted fully anywhere and grow old almost as fast of humans.

My thoughts on the world well.. Let's just say that it's good to be alive and as for me I'm about to begin my adventures doing something I've dreamed about for a long long time now and that's explore the world and search for lost treasures and learn about the many new and lost technologies like my grandfather used to do, well at least he claims he used to, you can never be sure with that man he talks in riddles half the time and he gets you all interested and then drops you off with the worst case of what happens next, then gives a quote about how a wise man never knows more then he should bit or something like that. I sometimes think he dabs in the whole Wizard and magic stuff too much I'm sure he's going nuts. In fact I bet he doesn't even know himself!

It's a really good thing I enjoy solving puzzels because when I first told my grandfather about my dreams he asked me what would I do when I found the treasure and how would I open the chest. A simple lift up the lid sent him into tears of laughter at my ignorance, thats when he explained to me about all the varius skills a treasure hunter needed to even find the chest nevermind open it. He sometimes attempts to sway me into becoming a Wizard saying how a simple knock spell is twice as fast and you don't even have to get your hands dirty. as always I reject the offer but ever since then I've volunteered at the local Locksmith for him to teach me in exchange for what ever he needed done around the shop, that often sent me back to his house to clean up his yard and slave for his wife doing the things he was meant to do. Sometimes I would find trappers and ask them question on how they worked their devices they are actually pretty easy but I guess their targets are wild animals so the complextity of them don't need to be that great.

As of now I'm not sure what I'll do with the news on my father I may end up going out to look for him. My mother sent word to my grandfather so he is expected to come and until then I'll wait and see what happens.
