Who am I? Good question haha I'm called Anixius Drakand I'm 326 years old and I'm a Moon Elf. Looking around at his luxurious Island, population looks around again and into a reflection in the water, population me. How you ask did I get here? Hmm, well I was on a job with this merchant ship bound for Voltrex when we were attacked by pirates. We fought off the attack and as I was kicking off the last boarding plank I was hurled off the ship, after that it's all a blank until I opened my eyes and found myself here on this deserted island. I even named it I call it Island Reflection, why you ask well that's simple because ever since arriving here I've been doing nothing but reflecting on my life. Let's see now where was I.. ahh yes;
Growing up in Dregar in the Capital city of Pranzis (now called Prantz) I was a Captian in the Officer's Corps up until they was defeated and the city fell to one of Bloodstone's generals in 1402. Disbanding and moving my family to Seacove I decided to start up a Merchant's ships Guard business with a few of my former comrades' from the Corps who also fled to Seacove with me. The times where ruff and the world was in turmoil it took everything I had to stay low and let what could not be done left undone and focus on my family. It was thanks to my Father Sengumi Drakand that I could rest easy as he promised me that he would take up a quest for answers and keep me updated. Sengumi spent his whole life in the study of magic never once drifting from the path of the Wizard. He would often try and force me into the study but my love of the Rapier kept me focused on the path of the Duelist.
It was over 130 years ago when I first met the love of my life Illiana I was out on a patrol near Corax Lake during the Festival making sure all was well and safe for them when I heard her beautiful voice she was singing to the children and dancing she was slim and fair skinned with long silver hair and moved like an angel my heart stopped. My second in command took notice and slapped me hard on the back with a wide grin and told me to take a few hours off and that he'd cover the shift. With slightly blushed cheeks I walked up to where she was and just watched and listened. All I could think was in times like these; true beauty still finds places to blossom. Once the song was over and the children ran off to take part in the many activities planned for the day she walked up to me, my heart raced and asked if she could get me anything. Now let's get things straight I'm a military oriented guy that puts discipline on the top of the list and I'm very respectful to strangers (being a Moon Elf you have to have some respect since most the world hates you for one reason or another). But this girl was more then I could ever have imagined and I said to her as serious as I would order one of my men in the Corps. "You're the most beautiful woman I've ever been blessed to set my eyes on, take this fool as your husband for he needs your soothing voice and hypnotizing dance your lovely eyes and intoxicating smell to remind him that there is still hope in this world." Suddenly realizing what I had just said I stumbled back and tripped back over a log set out as a chair and into the lake. My heart started beating, Light! What a fool I am.
Gathering myself and getting back on my feet out of the water I started to apologized to her and rush back to the camp when she reached out and grabbed hold of my hand. So soft they were and warm I met her eyes once more embarrassed and ashamed. She gave me a very warm smile and asked me for my name. After finally juttin' it out she smiled once again and asked if I was ever going to ask her for hers , followed by I can't possibly marry a man who does not even know my own name. And that's how I met Illiana. What? You want to know what her answer was. Ah you don't need to know it was happily ever after that's what happened.
After a few years Illiana gave birth to Jaigan and that's when we bought a house in Seacove she wanted to stay near the Lake and also keep Jaigan away from the corruption settling in around the larger Cities. Sengumi would often visit and fill the boy's head with stories and adventures packed full with treasures from around the world, the boy's eyes would light up every time he came over wanting more and more stories. Sengumi would always bring him a book only one to read while he was there, always telling him one book at a time books are knowledge and knowledge is power and that one should never have too much power within his grasps or the Wolves will drag you into darkness and the Ravens will take your eyes. That used to scare him but now he's convinced he's the Raven or the Wolf probably both, bloody Sengumi! Poor boy's going to be chasing shadows for the rest of his life I know it. He'd have him casting fireballs and lightning bolts by now if not for Illiana threatening to have him charged for stealing books from the Tower, he's read all of them now he just brings them to try and sway Jaigan into magic with him. Thankfully Jaigan seems to skip most of the magic stuff and focus on the treasures and maps of the world. All I know is my father will blow himself up one day I can already see it I just hope I can keep the boy far enough away from him when he does. Come to think of it he's been going around preaching that too much power will destroy a man, I can clearly see now he's just trying to horde all that power for himself the sly old man.
Every year we go to the Festivals at Corax Lake it's a special time for us when most of our Moon Elf bothers and sisters come together and share stories and play games the children love it. One day I got dragged into a fight with a Half Orc because Jaigan had suggested the probability of Corax getting the yellow rock ages ago through other then honorable methods. Light! what was the boy thinking? Orc's can barely keep their temper in check in the first place. After clearing things up I asked him why he would tell him Corax was a cheater he only replied, I never said he was a cheater just that the possibility was there and as no one has ever done it since then.. well he is the one who began to believe it. He trailed off and muttered that the Orc had stole one of the prizes he had won in a festival game so he stole the Orc's pride. I'll have to start keeping an eye on him I'm not sure if I'd rather have a boy who swings a fist every now and then or one who rips apart someone's whole understanding and way of thinking. A black eye at least gets forgotten after a few days.
