Blindness-dephness

I was invisible and casted a spell on the giants near prantz, the one that got affect still came after me, even though his info card showed he was blind and deaf.

and when I say came after me is that he chased me around the map a few times, while the others laughed at me :)

Not a bug. Blindness is not a sure way to keep monsters to stand still. Sometimes they move, sometimes they dont. Depends.

yeah but being blind and deaf should not let him able to run after me 3 times around the map. I'm not talking about random movement here, he was running after me taking the same turns as me and all.

I know what your saying. But yes this sometimes happens.

It may please you to hear that he would still get the 50% miss chance from being blind. But sometimes monsters are still able to see the party, even if blinded.

DEAF. DEAFNESS. THE SPELL EVEN SAYS IT.

Ahem. *Regains his composure.*

This is a Bioware bug caused by the exact same thing as the well-documented Invisibility bug. NWN doesn't really know WHAT a character perceives. It sortof just makes it up as it goes along.

In my limited experience, giants (and ogres and trolls, since they are giants according to NWN) are the worst at conforming to what you think they should see and what they shouldn't.

In my experience with mass deafening blindness, they will "see" you if you hit them while deafened most of the time and give chase.  This is equally the case with both ranged and melee attacks on them.  If however you blind and deafen them and run back without attacking them, they typically don't give chase.  So blindness/deafness will by no means make them sit still and beat them to deaf like hold monster or any typical paralyzing agent.  Also, when blinded or fighting somebody invisible in the arena, most Players will run around frantically trying to cover ever inch of the ring trying to bump into the mage and attack them via melee, so in defense of the giants, if we do it, why can't they? ;)

Besides, according to most folklore, giants possess some incredible extrasensory abilities, like being able to find out if you're an Englishman by the scent of your blood that's still inside your body.  That level of accuracy totally beats drug sniffing dogs, who usually delay my flights because they like my carry-on sandwich.
